A long, long time ago
I can still remember how his running used to make me smile
And I knew if we had a chance
That Gurley could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But October made me shiver
With every word I read on twitter
Bad news on the internet
I couldn't stop kicking my dear pet

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his rumored bribe
But something touched me deep inside
The day Georgia's hopes died

Had just finished some stuff at work. Text started with "Gurley" and for some reason the first thing I thought of was that Reddit thread a few weeks ago. Was unhappy after that text.

Perhaps, change that to The day the Heisman died...flows better, everyone will still get the essence.

Otherwise, solid work.

At Practice watching KO return when our trainer GA that did his undergrad at VSU walked up and told me. I scared some of my scout team freshman with my reaction.

Pulling into my driveway listening to Chuck and Chernoff, wondering who they were talking about and why they were using Gurley as an analogy for such a horrible act.

Walking to my car, got a text from a friend while standing directly in front of the CFB Hall of Fame. Irony.

I was driving up to Chicago when I received a call from a coworker. I thought he was screwing with me, but no, he was just calling to be a douche, typical Notre Dame guy.

Would you rewrite the book of rules
That kicked Georgia fans right in the jewels
If the NCAA tells you so?
Do you believe Chubb can rock and roll
Can Douglas save our mortal soul
And can you teach Mason to pass real slow?
Well, I know that we’re in love with him
'Cause I saw Verne dancin' in the gym
We both kicked off our shoes
Man, thinking about it gives me the blues
I am a lonely Bulldog broncin' buck
With a Red and Black pom pom and a pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the Georgia’s hopes died

Now for thirty years we've been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone
But that's not how it used to be
When the Herschel ran over ol’ Bill Bates
And led the Dawgs to the pearly gates
And a cheer that came from you and me

Oh, and while AJ Green was looking down
The NCAA stole his eligibility crown
The courtroom was adjourned
Weeks for the verdict to be returned

And while Cam stole a laptop
JFF dodged the NCAA to stay at the top
And Jameis dodged the cops
The day the Georgia’s hopes died
