I get it, but I just don’t see a better player on the board at #8. At that point the Falcons are reaching. Best player available, then sort out the depth chart in September. A pass rusher isn’t going to get you to the playoffs. Build for the future, Gurley will take the RB spot for the next 6-8 years.

Did I mention I‘m not a Falcons fan yet?

Certainly one player on defense won't make us go from dead last to top ten, but we did have a top ten offense last year, so drafting a skill position player top ten doesn't make much sense to me. However, if we were to trade our pick for a couple of first rounders and maybe a mid round pick or two, and Gurley fell further than expected I would be okay with picking him up. If we get Gurley at #8 with all of the glaring holes on defense I would be pretty angry, at first anyway, then I'd be excited that I get to see my favorite player play on my favorite team every week

Yep. As a Dolphins/Chargers fan I'd love to have him on one of my squads. But he's a high performance dude that apparently/might be slightly injury prone. As an owner/GM, do you risk a high pick with his injury history (knee, ankle, etc)?

TG3 at 100% is awesome. How often will he be 100%?

Outside the scope of this thread a little, but for me, Chubb (so far) has NFL stud RB written all over him. Long may it continue!

I wish TG the best wherever he goes unless it's: DAL, NYJ, NYG, NE, OAK, DEN, BUF, KC. Probably forgetting one or two.

If Beasley is there at 8, the Falcons should have the pick in within a minute. If he's not, take Scherff from Iowa. Randy Gregory has bust written all over him, as does Shane Ray. 8 is too high for Bud Dupree. I would love to see Gurley in a Falcons uniform, but they have more pressing needs and don't have the luxury of picking a RB that high in the draft.

Gurley landing spots:
Cleveland (picks 12 and 19)
San Diego (pick 17, they would take him over Gordon)
Houston (pick 16)

Yes I know. I believe I've said that in each of my post. I'm arguing why it makes sense not why it's going to happen.

Yep. No ties to Miami or anything. I've just always liked them for whatever reason.

Almost every Dawg cheered for the Dolphins back when DGDs Jake Scott and Bill Stanfill anchored their awesome defense but now the team is a joke. I hated it when they got Moreno and I'll hate it even more if they get Gurley.

I'm sorry, but with the way the league is today and how many glaring/gaping holes we have on defense, we can't afford to take a skill player at 8. We just cannot. Had we addressed our needs through trades or free agency, I'd be fine with it. But if you're staring at a guy like Vic Beasley, you have got to make him part of your defense. We finished LAST in the NFL in yards allowed. Drafting a running back with the first pick doesn't help you there.

Jags trade up after getting LW with #3 and get another #3. We will become death, destroyer of worlds.

Interesting. I wonder what they want in return.

I love Gurley but I would never recommend drafting a running back who had a knee injury in the top 10. I wonder what the stats are for reinjury. I would be afraid of it. Especially with Gurley style of running.

But she's dead, so I can't really get confirmation on that.

Everything I've read lately has him going top 10. If there is a run on pass rushers early, the Falcons could trade down and try and nab him in the mid-first.

I am as big a Gurley fan as anyone, but why is there so much in this thread about him going top 10? I haven't seen any reputable mocks or articles saying as much. With so many failed running back picks recently, and the ability to get close to the same prodution it the middle rounds, it makes no sense to take a RB coming off major knee surgery that early.

That being said - please not the Dolphins. As a Bills fan, it would be a huge conflict of interest.

I don't know if I'd call them "a joke". No they aren't competing for super bowls, but how many teams year in and year out do? The jags, browns, etc are a joke. Miami at least has some solid pieces and is typically in the middle of the pack. They've gone 23-25 the last 3 seasons. Obviously not all that good, but certainly not towards the bottom either.
