Gurley ran one back his first game then never returned again that I can remember. Boykin was a starting corner and was the best returner I can remember at Georgia.

A lot of times, not all the time. Devin Hester, for example. Damien Gary was a great punt returner but wasn't really a big-time player other than that

ETA: I'm not saying a starter can't be a good returner, obviously

Hearing he is going to be the man- supposedly working on punt returns everyday seems to have a good work ethic also

Source says he is the quickest player on the field. Seems like he'll be the return man from day one. We've been needing this piece of the puzzle for awhile. Could you imagine Sanford if Mckenzie took one to the house against Clemscum??

I think the returners will be McKenzie and Michel/Chubb.

I remember watching warm-ups before the WLOCP this year and he dropped 3 straight punts. It was unbelievable and I had no idea how the coaches could watch this, and keep him back there in actual games.

As for the starters debate, I think it is all relative to the quality of their returns and the importance of them in the line up. I love Gurley as a returner, but he probably isn't that much better than someone like Scott-Wesley, Michel, McKenzie, or Chubb, but is significantly more important at his position so I'd avoid putting a guy like him back there. I hope the new coaching staff knows what they are doing and I trust them to put the right guys in the right places.
