Nice.

So, apparently, they're featuring each team with "Best of" games every night to start.

At least Georgia got the second night. I'll take that.

So, the team preview shows are only a half hour long and not an hour long. That sucks. Probably nothing much new to learn in the 20 minutes between commercials for any of the teams......

yet UK hoops gets Wed-Sun on ESPNU and SECN
sickening

They are showing like UK exhibition games in the Bahamas. I hate ESPN. I don't watch anything they do unless it's a live game.

Yeah, that UGA feature show will probably "break the news" to us that Murray is gone, Gurley is elite and our secondary MIGHT be inexperienced.

There you go, I saved you 30 minutes of your life.

Main Rant has a schedule for the first few days of the SECN. They start with a Alabama focus, then one by one move t each school highlighting each school and their best games.

Was going to post a link to the schedule, but I now see that WG has already done it.....shoot, what the heck...here it is again in case you missed his:

Yea, it's 30 mins and it has a bunch of hat racks posing as show commentators hosting. My guess is what yall said in that it'll barely scrape the surface of what we have all talked about.

I'm not sure of the structure but I'd like for them to have each of these shows for each team hosted not by the same dolts but by each of the school's specific writers. Idk, I think UGA, Bama, and a few others are the only ones with their own ESPN teams but it'd be nice to have our own hosts who actually spend all of their time on Georgia.

I'm like anyone and get excited when I see UGA is gonna be on ESPN or Fox or w/e but every time it's like "oh, we have a new DC, oh, we have Todd Gurley, oh, look, there's Uga"

With these "classic" games, I wish they'd add something to it instead of just replaying them.

Maybe, have some of the coaches or players who were part of the game sit there and tell stories or analyze the game or add anecdotes as it replays. Kind of like how back when they made DVDs, there would be a director's commentary........where you could watch the movie and the director and some of the actors would give commentary over the movie about how they made it, this and that, with the sound of the movie down.

Doesn't look like espn's really interested in adding anything quality or unique though. Just a bunch of average filler in between games being broadcasted.

I remember ESPN classic used to do at least a bunch of messages on the screen that'd give little insights or stats from that year which was nice. Problem was if you hadn't seen the game they'd spoil the shite out of the ending.

I'd just like it to be like the NFL Network does their games where it's chopped up so there's little walking around and the games take only an hour or hour and a half to watch.

Tonight @ 8pm on SEC NEtwork:

Vince Dooley, Herschel Walker, and Buck Belue provide commentary during a replay of the 1980 Georgia Florida game.

I'd watch the shite out of that. If it existed. But, it doesn't.

Just started watching Georgia Florida 1980 on youtube in preparation for an idea I have about starting "The GSB Network".........

UGA wins toss and guess who Dooley sends out to return the kick-off?

Answer: Herschel Walker. Yet, here we are in 2014 and the majority here cry and curl up in the fetal position at the mere mention of Gurley possibly returning kicks.

Anyway, back to "The GSB Network" idea. Basically, we get a handful of posters to agree to do commentary like the above while watching the replay. They agree to all hit play at the same time on the youtube video of say, Georgia Florida 1980..........and then they provide their insights and commentary in the thread as they go. Peter Buck and Dallasga6 would be obvious choices for the commentary panel for this game. But, we could also throw in people who weren't around back then. Or probably better, just let anyone join. Just schedule a time for when people are suppose to hit 'play' on the replay video......and then treat it like the game threads.

The GSB Network - Coming Soon...................

This could really work and be a great idea for the board!

1) We have a ton of options to return kicks, including a guy we gave a scholarship to JUST for that reason. Who did they have behind Herschel that could do it? Lindsey, woerner...anyone else?

2) We can sit here and say "oh, well it worked out for us then" because he didn't get hurt. You cannot even possibly fathom the shitstorm that would've happened if Herschel tore an Achilles and was out for the season returning a kickoff. He would still be vilified for it to this day.

There simply is no need to put Gurley back there, unless we are in a DIRE situation late in a huge game.

As to the rest of your thoughts....not a bad idea.

How about little pop up comments like on videos and old movies?

"Gator fans start showing their children orange and blue at birth to try to condition them to think the colors actually match later in life"

"The guy who first suggested "gamecocks" as a mascot was actually kidding at the time"

"Gator cheerleaders wear the traditional garter belt to help prepare them for their future on the mid-day pole"

Things like that.
