Who does an interview and keeps their helmet on? Rodrigo Blankenship, thats who.
He must have remembered the moron getting yelled at at the end of the Tennessee game for taking his off.

Still didn't trust him until it went through though. Don't have that much faith......yet.
You can trust. I don't think he has missed one on 5-6 games. He had no confidence early on. Once he got confidence he is hitting from way outside. Every time he hits a FG his confidence grows.

Rodrigo's quotes after the game:
quote:
On not having missed a kick in a while ...
"I'm just trying to take it one kick at a time. That's the only way to go with kicking really, you just take it one step at a time and you move on, and short-term memory after every kick. Whether it's make or a miss, you've got to treat it the same way and be able to move on to the next one."
On the attempt that counted when UK had one timeout left ...
"You've got to be ready for anything. So taking my steps back, I'm just thinking, ‘I've got to get a smooth swing and knock it through.' Timeouts, I mean, it's a part of the game."

Yes, we do. Our redzone offense sucks but 4 FG's including the one with 2 seconds left on the clock is big time clutch play. No doubt Blankenship was our MVP of the game.

It seems like once they addressed Eason's inconsistent holding the former All-American kicker looked like the guy we recruited.

I think you're referring to Ham. Rodrigo missed his first attempt and has been money since.
Actually, most people on here was talking bad about both. It was pretty ugly, too.

Correct and of course the blame was left on the previous staff for leaving us with both.

Yes, it was. There was a bi discussion about how Richt knew our kickers couldn't kick and he should have gotten another one in here.....and maybe Kirby would be auditioning some more kickers. I'm glad now he didn't.

If not for the bad hold he would of made every kick this year. I screamed at Kirby the first few games for not lettin him kick. Ham sucked. I remember watchin that video of him kickin 60 yarders while practicing in high school and said right then, this kid is gonna be goofy money.

Yea,but many on here were bitching like little girls
about not having a scholarship kicker on the roster.
Saw the youtube videos as well and others knew about Blankenship and what he was capable of.Perhaps Ham was better in practice but obviously couldn't hack it when the whistle blew.
