I'm pretty sure jimmy hasn't been the head guy in years.

Also other sites are saying WB turned himself in. It doesn't sound like he was fricking around and cops pulled up and cuffed him.

Rent-a-cops. If you give them a badge and gun, some would do the job for free.

Our players lead the world in stupid ways to get in trouble.

They hit like a paint ball and leave welts. It's like someone throwing a rock at you really hard. Some little assholes even freeze the water pods to inflict even more damage. There's no excuse for this dumb shite. Replace water pellet with paintball gun, enough of you have or know people hit with those, and you wouldn't be so dismissive. I assume these charges are because he was doing this to unexpecting victims. If however this challenge was some dumb shite he and his friends were in on, shooting each other, then I could give him a pass. If he was shooting strangers with these, he should do jail time. The more downvotes I get here, the more I know I'm right.

It’s just stupid. I get the kids thing and I did way worse but they know what they risk losing.

You're allowed to make stupid mistakes, but it's pretty easy to remember not to frick around with fake guns as a Georgia football player. There's plenty of ways to be funny and have fun that don't offer the same level of idiotic risk.

You have a 12th year Senior in Julian Rochester to look to for a cautionary tale about "just playing with fake guns".

Absolutely pathetic does Athens Clark county have nothing else to do but arrest kids just for being kids? I mean I agree to some point it was childish to do but then again he is still a child .. absolutely ridiculous

He's a junior in college.

ETA- if I found out my 7 year old was shooting at strangers with a water pellet gun he'd wish he had jail as an option. A 20 year old? frick that. No excuse. What a cvnty take.

I'm with you on this one Rig.

I believe his explanation was that he thought he was shooting someone he knew but was mistaken... He turned himself in fwiw... It was a dumb mistake but it honestly could have been much worse if he either hit someone in the eye or another sensitive area OR if someone simply saw what looked like a weapon and reacted accordingly. Hopefully can get the legal side of things sorted out with minimal long term impact to his life (I know folks who picked up felony armed assault charges for firing airsoft guns from a vehicle...)

He can vote, drive, go to war, get married, get a job, etc.
He is an adult in the eyes of the law and by almost every other measure. We can't call someone a child when it suits us and an adult when it suits us.

And he's an adult who probably has "legal reminders" explained to him (as well as the rest of the team) every Semester, if not every Quarter.

Kirby runs a tight ship and I'd imagine the Rochester "gun" incident helped establish "fake gun use" as a part of that seminar.

Such brilliant and privileged legal advice straight from the mouth of Charles McGill, as per pro forma dictata iralava conscreeded.... as follows: "Don't shoot people with guns, not bb guns, pellet guns, not paintball guns, not any kind of gun shall ye shoot upon another person".

Most 8 year olds know this. Brinson apparently doesn't. But most likely knew, and did it anyway. "Oh I thought I knew that guy". Sad.

In his defense, I also get it. Teenagers figure nobody will get seriously hurt and it will be fun.
I just saw a story where one teenager died because he and his buddies were shooting at each other while wearing a bulletproof vest and they missed the vest. (Apparently) Kids just have no idea about consequences and don't really consider them.

That said...like you said...they get lectures on these things all the time. At some point these guys have to get it and understand that if they choose football they will give up certain parts of their lives and have to be careful.
That is true at the high school level, college level and the pro level if they are fortunate enough to make it that far.

Sacrifices can be big but the rewards can be big, too.

At least he was mature enough to realize he had screwed up and turned himself in, and nobody was seriously injured.
I owned my own marker at one time and did the paintball thing.....if you don't wear layered clothing they hurt like a sunufagun.
