Yeah no shite, students aren't in Athens and alums aren't going to drive from Atlanta to see us play Iona. We'll get some bodies to watch the slaughterings laid on us by Kentucky, Florida, etc.

How many of those will be Kentucky or Florida fans though?

We are AWFUL this year. I really was hoping that we'd build on some of the growth we had last season but it's just not happening. You can't expect people to make the time in their schedule to go watch bad basketball. Not in the south where football is king anyways. Even if I was in Athens, I would have to seriously consider whether it's worth my time to go to a game sometimes and I'm as big of a dawg fan as there is.

Bad product on the court is not going to get the student body excited. Probably do need some kind of gimmicky special evenings ie. the silent night video posted earlier.

And by the way, UGA has the worst fans in the SEC. Piece of shite students who leave football games early, fat lard arse alumns and teachers who can't show up for a basketball game.... it's sickening.

Kneehigh, you can suck a fat dick dude... no where did I say "we are a football school." I said "football is king" and that is a fact in Athens and across much of the south. In my time in Athens, I went to roughly 75% of home basketball games, every home football game, and many many baseball, tennis, gymnastics, and volleyball events. (Volleyball for obvious reasons other than school spirit.) This is not to mention the numerous road games I went to that were in towns where I had friends who were attending school. You can take your you people and shove it up your arse buddy.

Your argument of "look at Florida" is entirely invalid because they put a much better quality product on the floor. You could compare our B-ball to USCe, Miss St, or many other programs that are floundering. In today's environment, if you put a subpar product on the field and/or court, you will see a drop in attendance.

The games aren't even exciting this year because they're not winning ANY of these close games. As a fan if I have an expectation that if the game is close we're still going to lose, I'm going to think a lot harder about whether it's even worth it to go to the game. The university has shown little to no commitment to making the program better over the past decade or so, so I have a hard time putting all the blame on fans for not wanting to support it.
