It's very cool to see all of these true freshmen just jump right in and contribute right away. Yes there are some mistakes but a lot of these guys were in the game for critical plays last night.

Malaki Starks and Mykel Williams obviously
Jalon Walker and Bear Alexander played a lot last night
Oscar Delp stepping up when Big O went out
Dillon Bell
Marvin Jones Jr stepped in when Chambliss went out

Delp played out of his mind. Next man up, indeed.

Darnell is a warrior but had too many injuries

Delp and Bowers won’t miss a beat

As a lifelong Dawg fan in my 50s, I almost have to pinch myself when I ponder the degree of excellence with which this program is being ran. Good times.

It's a damned shame that Gilbert couldn't keep it together.

Gonna miss big 0 and his blocking. Apparently the defense TCU runs makes blocking assignments weird. Texas used a 6th lineman to have some success running. Would be nice to have Darnell for that, but doubt he plays.

Maybe Mims can pull it off if they go the 6th lineman route

TCU bases out of a 3-3-5 so the run fits are different, there are more blitz packages, plus more fast guys on the field. You would think that it would be easy to just line up and mash the ball but if run correctly, it can still be tough. Don't be surprised if we struggle with the run game early on, just because it's not a look our guys see a lot.

We need a strong safety type to put in an LB slot to spy Duggan so he doesn't run for 200 yards.

Some advantage to the extra game is the true freshmen getting that much more real experience plus the EE getting to practice.
