The fricking melt over a Jr in HS is hysterical.

Dear lord, can we get through this badass recruiting class, another season of Chubb and Michel, 2 of the top 6 RBs, the #1 QB recruit last year with a year under his belt, A packed defense, a 2nd year of all coaches, a bowl game, spring game and a fun season next year, before we complain about this stupid shite? Bless all those that can't be here with us tonight and all the Dawg faithful. In Jesus name, Amen!

Did you think he would commit to the G with the other studs making Athens, GA their home for the next few years? I sure didn't...

Hope the kid balls out though.

I hope he gets frozen shoulder syndrome and herpes. But that's just me.

Think about it, if you're lucky you have 3 scholarship QB's, possibly 4. Kids flame out, they don't live up to the unfair hype that gets heaped on them. Maybe one of those QB's doesn't develop, and maybe one QB just got hurt. You're now looking at having a walk-on as your back up, or 3rd string best case scenario.

So in summary, we're toast because our #3 QB in 2018 won't be a #1 ranked prospect. Did I get that right?

Shite, this hurts us so little. We're good at QB and will be for the next 3-4 years if Eason and/or Fromm even come close to meeting expectations.

quote:

Christian Lemay, Brice Ramsey, Jacob Park, all 4-star QBs that we recruited. Guys that had worlds of potential.

Yeah, and Kellen Moore was an elite college QB as a 2-star. Shite happens, but that's how recruiting goes, its not a failure in the numbers game.

My point is , never thought he was going to comitt and not so sure it's a huge loss. Definilty would not be up for a discussed QB battle in 2018 when your trying to suit up for a run hopefully with an upperclassman with 2 yrs experience and hopefully very good backups.

Sorry if I bugged you, there are other threads.

Agree...the melt over this is dumb. Why would he come to UGA? The #1 QB in the country just finished his freshman season and while you can bitch about how he didn't live up to the hype, he was playing as a true freshman in the SEC, with a mediocre (at best) offensive line and extremely mediocre receivers (with the talented ones being young themselves).

Eason will make a big leap in year 2, especially with more WR experience and some big recruits...and hopefully a better OL.

Meanwhile....in comes Fromm, a consensus top 3 pro style QB.

Our year for the next big QB get is 2019.

Not even worried. Good luck to the kid. Fromm and Eason are good for me

Based on what Xavier Thomas said, he'll be picking Clemson. When you're between them and SCjr, it's not hard

Sorry....so Clemson has Chase Brice, Hunter Johnson, AND now Lawrence all coming in. But Lawrence went where he could play early (even though the other two will have been playing for a year already when he gets there)? Did I get that right?

I imagine one of those 2017 guys will either Decommit or transfer. Johnson is an EE. Not sure about Brice

The kid hasn't played a down in college. There is no way you can make that statement now.

Yes he can. he said Lawrence looks to be better. He didn't say he IS better. He can look at where Lawrence is right now and where Eason and Fromm was at this point in their life and easily say that Lawrence "looks" to be better. You don't have to agree, with him.....but I do.

I imagine that Kirby & Co. will huddle-up today and evaluate their next QB target based on this Lawrence development.

That's an odd thing to say. We have no way of knowing this.

I've seen Touchdown Jesus play up close and personal. He is the real deal. Throws screamers on a rope. Moves very well for someone his height and size. He is listed at 6-3 but I think he is more like 6-5 or 6-6. Hate it he is going to Clemson. I think we will be ok with Fromm in the long run. Reminds me a little of Aaron Murray which is a good thing.

I think we have 2 QBs in the fold who are very good, elite prospects. I won't argue that point. Lawrence, though, looks to the best QB prospect to come out of this state in a long, long time and it sucks to miss on the #1 overall prospect in your own backyard. It sucks from a depth standpoint, too, because both staffs put all their eggs in the Lawrence basket and let two other very good prospects commit elsewhere. There is a long way to go until January 2018, but once a kid commits that means you have to work extra hard to flip him. We really need to find a QB in 2018 for depth purposes and Sam Vaughan ain't it.

Did anyone really think we would land Fromm and Lawrence? I sure didn't. I thought we'd eventually lose Fromm if Lawrence committed or I thought Lawrence would go elsewhere, especially with the former #1 QB in Eason just finishing is freshman season. That's what happened.

Last I saw, he was listed as 6-6. I think you're looking at his middle school info.

Yeah, you are right. That site had not updated it. He is 6-6. Very long and lanky. His arms seemed freakishly long to me. A lot of times you get a kid that's tall like that and they are uncoordinated and have to grow into their body some. Not this kid. Could stand to add a little weight to his frame but that will come at the next level.

I was close to Coach Chaney at game a couple of months ago and watched him drool over him like he was a piece of pepperoni pizza.

Kids a junior...he may get his girlfriend pregnant, develop the yips, discover recreational weed..

Way to soon to worried about a HS jr.
