I understand your point, but in my biased opinion UGA is better than many of our peers at actually kicking trash off the team (Crowell, Marshall, Mett, etc.).

Most of the guys that you root for on the field for UGA aren't thugs, and if they do something thuggish in the future I'm fairly confident you won't be seeing them on the field for UGA the next game you watch.

The big money sports of football and basketball at most every school have some of this type athlete. But Georgia attempts to handle these issues publicly. Do you think no other school has players doing this very same thing, but they hide it internally?
Until the NCAA develops a mandatory reporting system and a standard punishment scale we will continue to see schools handling this "internally" and laughing at Georgia and a few others for trying to do right.
Miles ignoring assaults and drugs, Spurrier ignoring DUI and theft, the Lizards ignoring theft, assaults, drugs, and rapes, etc.

I was criticized on this board for suggesting that the NFL have a minor league system where players, who care nothing for education, could play-for-pay. As long as we're putting thugs in classrooms, we're gonna have arrests.

No, it's no cultural thing. It's a lack of a two parent home, supervision and responsibility. Just wait until these kids get their million dollar signing bonuses in the NFL, that's when the trouble really starts.

If the NFL wants to support thugs, then they can support farm teams like they have in baseball. Let the thugs become semi-pro athletes and they can get paid as much as the market economy is willing to offer; education entirely optional

For the record, found out from a friend of one of these guys today that these four have been doing this double-dipping for a while and getting away with it. They got caught this time because someone "told on them". And there was apparently no remorse or admission of wrongdoing. Just blamed someone else for ratting them out.

And if true, there you have it: entitlement/thug/theft mentality on full display. Bottom line: a full scholarship to a major university is not enough for these guys and frick the rules, we want more.

All 4 should be kicked off the team, perid.

Oh, it's true. My source is an employee of mine and a personal friend to one of the players involved and I asked him to ask that player about what happened the next time he saw or spoke to him. He just told me about it this morning as they spoke over the weekend. My employee is a high character guy, but I believe the two of them grew up together, hence their friendship.

Thanks for the confirmation of your source. Reinforces my convictions regarding this case.

Apparently, that player has said they will not be booted from the team (though this guy is NOT Uriah Lemay and he did go one step further by trying to cash checks that weren't his, so who knows). He did say that he wasn't likely to be starting at the beginning of the season, but that seems pretty light to me.

At least JJ Frazier waited till after the NIT's to get busted...

Georgia basketball player J.J. Frazier was arrested late Sunday night on a charge of driving without a license after he was pulled over during a traffic stop.

The freshman guard from Glennville was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 10:27 p.m. and was released at 1:23 a.m. Monday on bonds totaling $1,000 for two misdemeanors.

Any player stealing from the university who provides said player with a scholarship should be kicked off the team and that scholarship forfeited. Period.
