I wonder if this has anything to do with instant replay. Offenses can influence replays by hurrying up if they think they got a favorable call or spot or slowing down to let the booth have more time to review a call. The defense has no way of influencing this.

Yep, that's part of the point of this thread. The offense already has the advantage of surprise (snap count) and obviously knowing the play and the point of attack, etc. This already puts the defense at a decided disadvantage leading to defensive players having to expend more effort/energy per play to account for multiple modes of attack by the offense. Of course these HUNH offenses want to keep the defenses on the field. The offense has a lot less need to substitute because they aren't expending as much energy. One guy on the SECrant said: well, defenses need more conditioning to keep up. Well, I call bullshite. Most of the players are already conditioned darn near to the max so what you are really saying is you want the offenses to have even more of an advantage. Well, if that's where college football is headed then don't be surprised at an increase in fake injuries by defenses.

Dave, you're good people.

But because you started this thread you are hereby mandated to watch "Facing the Giants" and then perform the 100 yard death crawl with Damn Good Dawg riding on your back.
