Should we throw the Tennessee game?

All the no fun losers who want to post "we just need to focus on ole miss", skip this thread.
Hypothetically speaking, let's say we win against Ole Miss on Saturday and clinch the East. What does beating Tennessee accomplish besides keeping the undefeated streaks alive?
Losing to Tennessee wouldn't affect our path the playoffs as we would still need to beat Tech and the West champ to be a lock for the top 4 even if we were to beat Tenn.
I think purposefully throwing the Tennessee game would benefit us by ridding us of the winning streak. I doubt the streak affects our team that much (though it has to be in the back of the minds somewhat), but I do think the idea of being the team that beats us gives opponents an extra edge when they play us. It's a huge target. By throwing the game, we get rid of the target and Kirby can work his motivation magic more with the teams back against the wall.
Thoughts?

frick no. Especially frick no to Tennessee. I’d rather lose in the SECCG and see where the chips fall. I couldn’t fathom the thought of losing to those POS’s

We lose in SECCG I highly doubt we make the playoffs.
We have a great team, but I think deep down we all know it's not an undefeated type of team. We have a loss in us. And who knows, in my hypothetical, if we do throw the game, there is no guarantee we beat Bama in the SECCG so it may be moot regardless.

On purposefully losing? Okay.
Holy fricking shite.

You want to lose a game so our coach has more edge to motivate the players to not lose games. Is that your position?

Not exactly, though I think that is an added benefit. Hungry dog runs faster and all that shite.
Think of it like the NFL (fricked up I know, but this is what the TV execs are pushing us towards).
In this scenario we basically, assuming we beat Tech, have a guaranteed ticket to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. Beat Alabama and we are in the semifinals. Why not just sit all our top tier players to avoid injuries? Added bonus is we remove the large target off of our back...the streak.

I've seen enough losses in my lifetime. I'm not intentionally losing one of them.

In a 12 team playoff I would entertain the idea of sitting starters once a spot is clenched, but in your specific scenario, it is dumb. If we are up by 30, sure, rest them. But losing on purpose is a mixed up confusing position to take.

What do we gain by beating Tennessee? Besides bragging rights as fans...it doesnt help our chances to make the playoffs because if we lose to Bama we will most likely be eliminated regardless.
Not so much lose on purpose, but not try our best to win.

You see, you're talking about throwing a fricking football game? What lesson does this teach those kids? Those kids want to fricking win. If a coach had told us to lose a game, he'd have lost the locker room very, very fast.
If you had said something like, rest the starters, well that's different. But, still, frick no. Iron sharpens iron. Play your starters, get a lead, then play your underclassmen.
What you are talking about is some Dan Mullen level mental retardation. Remember the LS U game that didn't mean shite?
Yeah. He sat some people, if you recall. Game didn't mean shite.
Kirby don't coach to lose. Maybe Richt would have done some shite like this. He did start Faton Bauta. Threw that kid into the meat grinder.

frick Alabama. Everyone is shittin a brick bc they put up 42 on a terrible lsu defense in their own house with the help of the refs. Does anyone here really think Kirby is going to let Milroe run like that on our defense?

So forego a historic run with an SEC consecutive win streak on the board just to bring our own team down a notch so they are hungry and to sneak up on Bama in the SECCG? That’s what you are asking? Try not to lose so to speak while simultaneously trying our best not to win? Just kind of show up because we have to and half arse go through the motions? In Neyland? I couldn’t imagine what the players and staff would say if you were introduced by Kirby as a guest speaker for the team at a practice next week to present this strategy. What mental gymnastics must be required to even think that shite up?
This is truly the most idiotic suggestion I have ever read on this board. Please tell me you are just trolling.

Gators already one loss so they needed to win out to get to playoffs. Not a good comparison.
Kirby wouldn't coach to lose but would he not try to win a game if it meant a better chance to win the natty?

Explain.
A one loss SECC goes to the playoffs.
