Yet bama can still go 5-6 deep with 5 stars. This sucks. Stop jerking these kids around.

Green is too small for a RB in the SEC and a bit short for a DB at 5'9". But he has 4.4 speed so he could probably play either in another conference. I'd like to keep him as return specialist and backup but he knows he will never be a starting RB behind Chubb and Michel so I wish him well.

Gonna miss JJ, great attitude towards the game and played hard on every down.

I really liked him as a player, but there is no way he is a true 4.4.

Yea, I got the same impression. Seemed like he was tackled way too easily to be that quick/fast. And when you are 5'9" and about 180 lbs., you better have exceptional speed to make up for your lack of size in the SEC.

Slot going to get crowded in a hurry. People on the board already want Marshall, Michel and McKenzie in the slot.

Even if he moved back to RB, he won't be ahead of Sony or Chubb. I wish him the best, hope he doesn't go to AU.

Not buying it... He isn't going to insist on playing time with Chubb an Michel in front of him...and now with Carson coming in. This dude isnt' an every down RB.

Had better corner skills anyhow. But short...and maybe the inbound guys are a threat? Or something's up with the environment.

He's a backup to guys who are probably going to be backups next year.

Injuries and attrition before the season and during the season, and I think he only started one game before being ejected for targetting, and guys coming in are as good if not better, I'd come to the same conclusion that I should seek greener pastures now instead of later. I don't dislike Green for this.

He's done nothing but bust his arse for this team, and he doesn't seem to be making the kind of progress he wants to make. I don't think he's a quitter, I think he just wants to find a better fit.

One thing that I've wondered the last few years, is how a school like Bama can trick highly rated guys to ride the bench 4 years.

Saban has established a track record at this point of putting kids in the league, many early in the draft, after not starting until their JR season. Lacy, Clinton-Dix, Collins, Mosley, Barron, Yeldon, Richardson, Kirkpatrick, Dareus, etc.

Didn't start as freshmen, most didn't start as sophomores and they ended up going early in the draft. He can point to that when he's recruiting, but he can also point to the julios and the Cooper's and the milliners and hightowers and say "the best players will play" He's covered all his bases and put the proof in the pudding, I don't think he's tricking anyone. Saban doesn't guaranteed anyone playing time, and I doubt Richt does either.

Tyren Jones I think will end up being a good example. He's a 4th string back but I think he understands the day will come when he can showcase his talent. Chris Black is another guy like that.

Everyone is different though. Different things make different guys tick. The reason Green is transferring could be a reason for a different guy to want to come to Georgia. I've heard a lot of our recruits over the years talk about the competition at bama being one of the reasons they chose to come. It's a competitive environment in practice when you've got a 5 star behind you on the depth chart, so that is going to push you every day to get better. I think Saban sells that hard to recruits, that Alabama is the place where you can maximize your potential because you can't let up here.
