Richt: “If I had to do it again we would’ve hammered it.”

Richt appeared to agree that the 1st and goal play calling was flawed. Hard to lose when you could have just as easily won.
Maybe you could get creative with Murray at the helm at that situation...but not Mason. I again saw nothing to suggest that he can win a game for the team the way a great QB can.
On the other hand, the defense gave up 447 yards, 27 first downs, and 38 points... I would call that the major problem, despite them stepping up and getting some stops late.

Move on... We'll be fine

I was actually very impressed with Mason tonight making some tough throws when we needed them. He paced us and kept us in that ball game. That play call was too cute and got us in to a terrible situation. I feel a lot better about Mason after this game than the Clemson game.

Pay me 2 mil and I'll make that mistake.

no shite sherlock...Mason did fine...the defense lost the game for us....we havent scored more than 20 point in WB in 10 years...we score 35 and lose...plus we missed 2 FG and only got 3 points off 2 TO....we're a young team...i was actually impressed at how we manned up and made it a game in the second half. frick the nega-dawgs....we can still accomplish our goals

No shite Richt. Coaches don't get paid for their excellent hindsight. Holy freaking shite. That defense is an embarrassment.

lol Mason is just average. There's still no reason to think he can pull out a big win himself, as great QB's can...

honestly i was more disappointed in our pass rsh...i thought we would dominate their OL after what TAM did, but it didnt happen....no pass rush plus a young secondary does not equal a win

Hey Lucius Clay, do you really get up and walk around in the Wooley Swamp?

Yep. Keep my money in mason jars, too. Which I periodically dig up....

The pass rush was one of difference-makers in the CU game and, for whatever reason, was almost non-existent vs USCe. Some of their fans were surprised by their O-line play. We can't hang this group of D-backs out to dry and hope to be successful. They're not talented/experienced enough. Thompson seemed very comfortable in the pocket and ate us up in the first half.

we did very little blitzing in the first half...

The one time I remember we put pressure on Thompson we picked it off. It was seriously discouraging to see that we got no sort of pass rush at all. We have some serious talent there and they were quiet the entire game.

He pulled out big wins against Georgia Tech and Clemson.
He could have pulled out great wins against Nebraska and South Carolina, if not for other people's screwups.

As pissed as I am we lost that USC oline played up to their potential. Our dline should be pissed they didn't put more pressure on qb. We knew we had problems in the secondary but I feel better with Pruitt back there. Let's lick our wounds and take care of Troy. Be a great game to work on technique and fundamentals

Pruitt kept blitzing and USC exposed us when we did. Their Oline fricking dominated us. I was really really surprised how close that 4th and 1 was. I thought for sure they were gonna get it. But I think the ref gave us a bad spot, but whatever, we deserved to lose that game.

Mason is a VERY average QB

This... their OLine was doing a great job of picking up our blitzes. We were trying to stunt and send in LB's from every direction but they all got picked up......there were a lot of uncalled holds....but they got picked up.
This gave Dylan all the time he needed.
