Following the poor display, CBS’ Brian Jones criticized UGA and coach Mark Richt for the 24-point beatdown.

“This is horrible,” Jones said on-air following the game. “This is terrible. I don’t know why Mark Richt’s name is being considered for any job. At least at his alma mater at the University of Miami. This was a terrible showing today. Yes, you should give a lot of credit to Florida. But Georgia should be worried. This was putrid. This was disappointing. They are a terrible football team.”

The media is just selling their show or column. They scent any discord and try to fan the ember into a flame, then take credit for getting some coach fired.
frick 'em. The university will decide to fire or not.

Of course the university has the final say but the pressure is about to be amped up.

The people who finance the program are fine when it is enough that the program is winning, there isn't a lot going on to embarrass the university, and the air is generally positive. The press has always been on the Richt is a good person bandwagon and the powers that be aren't going out on a limb to upset that. The press and media has changed. Lots of pundits asking what's up.....that will get the attention of donors, especially those who make a difference.

I get the impression that there is some discord on the staff....I also get the impression that if we don't win out, not likely, we are looking at a "significant improvement" situation next year...also not likely given the resurgence of UF and UT and a similar schedule. I sincerely think that a loss to either auburn or UK combined with a loss to GT will see the end of the Richt era at UGA.
