Reeally miss the old ranters. This place is a shadow of the greatness that prevailed from 2006 to 2011

couldn't agree more...many of the old ranters are here but....sprinkle in the new faces and the way this board is moderated...it just isn't the same...

This. But to get to city market from River Street all you do is hop up to Bay Street then take a left on Jefferson and you'll run right into it. Vinnies is the best pizza in town and there's usually some music going on outside.

Murphy's Law is the best bar that Ive been to in Savannah. There's also a little hole in the wall next to it. Not sure of its name, but they have some very cheap beer.

I used to live in Hilton Head, so if you end up taking the drive, I could give you a few suggestions on places to go.

Born and raised here. I live dt. Hit up B&D Burgers on Ellis square (City Market) for the game. If it's too packed go to wild wings or social club. Best burger in town is Green Truck Pub. Take a cab. Only got one beach. Head down to the pier for your trashy Effingham folks, we usually stay around 8-10th street. They just opened a new rooftop bar "cotton sail" on bay street. It's next to the Bohemian rooftop. Kinda pricey but the most ritzy and best views. I should be out and about tomorrow I'll be wearing a Knowshon jersey. Anything else just ask away. No open container law.

true that - forgot about Kevin Barry's - great Irish pub (but a bit touristy these days). And Spaceman's right about Spanky's if your doing the tourist thing (spud's and chicken fingers are awesome with honey!).

For authenticity though - there is a TINY Irish pub on Drayton just past E. Broughton Street called O'Connell's. The real deal. Check this OUT - and you're welcome (ask for Dan O'Connell - tell him Bob C. sent you!)
