OT: GBI raided majority of bars last night.

Got any links or legit stories? I graduated a couple years ago and probably twice a year the whole "undercover bar raid scheme" rumor would float around campus and nothing would ever happen. Not saying I don't believe you but from my experiences that stuff was all smoke and mirrors.

Lol, I can guarantee you they didn't raid anyone. They may have busted people but a raid is guns out, target specified, armor on,

I'll never forget the night I turned 21, I went downtown. My drivers license expired that day so because of stupid technicality Sandbar wouldn't let me in. Got questioned by the cops who saw it. They told me I was lying even though I showed them numerous pieces of evidence that I was being truthful but they let me go.

It definitely happened. They were only issuing tickets as far as I'm aware, though. Not sure what they were doing for bars failing to enforce IDing, but those were the real targets.

Don't know if it was the GBI, but they went into several bars. Moonshine, entirely underage bar, had literally zero people in it at 12:30 haha.

That's messed up.

I was in flans when they came in.


They only were approaching people who were acting shady and who were freaking out over cops being in a bar.

I saw the same thing. I thought it would be out of GBI jurisdiction. Surprised it fell under ATF jurisdiction, though. I thought it would be local law enforcement. Seems odd...or maybe they were looking for something totally different but telling people it was for underage drinking. Perhaps looking for someone specific and that's why they were checking IDs?

But yeah surprised this actually happened. Used to be rumored every now and then and stupid white girls would freak out over it.

Interestingly, In Columbia, sc in 2012 for the game and we were told of bar raids occurring that night. Typical bs, we thought. Well it happened at pavlovs, where we were. We asked some USC ladies what was gonna happen and they just tell us as long as we act normal and just chill out, it wasn't gonna be a big deal. Standard check at that bar, I guess. We go "oh ok cool" and I toss a beer bottle towards a trash can probably 2 feet away from me. It misses, smashes everywhere and gets absolutely everyone's attention. We turn, say "nice meeting you guys" and ran the frick out of there.
