Just saw the 2016 helmet schedule yesterday which I love having as a handy guide. Decided to take a look at who our opponents face in the few games before us. I didn't include meaningless games like vandy because who cares. Will list the opponent and their stretch leading to us, followed by *our similar stretch leading up to the game, followed by **rambling thoughts.

Missouri- @WVU, E.Wash, UGA
*UNC, Nicholls St.
**Too early to really mean much

Ole Miss- FSU, Wofford, Alabama, UGA
*UNC, Nicholls, @Mizz
**favors us. They have a very physical game 1, cupcake, then an even more physical/tough game which will be sky high with emotions. Classic letdown game next week against us

Tennessee- VT, Ohio, UF, @UGA
*@Mizz, @OM, UT
**call this a wash. They'll recuperate from the VT novelty against ohio, then have a super emotional home game against UF that they'll likely put all they have into before heading ot Athens. We will be out for revenge, but are coming off back to back away trips including the previous week against what might be 2nd best team on our schedule. Should be tough.

SC- ECU, @UK, Texas A&M, UGA
*@OM, UT, @SC
**probably favors them. We will be coming off the toughest 2 game stretch on our schedule then go on the road. They'll be coming off a home game and will definitely get up for this one

UF- LSU, Mizz, bye
*@SC, Vandy, bye
**wash since both teams have a bye week and play relatively easy games the week prior to the bye

Auburn- Arkansas, @OM, Vandy, @UGA
*Florida, @UK, Auburn
**They'll be coming off some tougher opponents but get hapless vandy at home prior to us. We go on the road to lexington the week before but shouldn't be too tested then get to go back to athens. Probably favors us.

tech- @UNC, @VT, UVA, @UGA
*Auburn, ULL, gt
**definitely favors us

I'd say it favors us. They'll be sky high for that UF game the week before and it will be tough for them to get back up.

They're going to put soooo much into that UF game it's not even funny. 11 straight losses, last year's inexplicable 4th quarter meltdown, this is THE game for butch to show if he's turned a corner or same old butch. Coming off this game followed by a road trip to us is not good for them. However, we have a trip to missouri (which shouldn't be too hard but it's far so there's that) followed by a road trip to OM who might be the best team we face.

BAsically both teams are coming off tough games/stretches, so I guess if you want to give us the edge due to being at home that makes sense.

Thanks for putting in the time to do this. It's good to know that our 2 toughest games (@OM, vs UT) will be against opponents who likely have a tougher prior week than us. We need to win one of those games (preferably UT) to have a good chance at taking the East.

I have a hard time pulling for the Gators but my hope is that Florida and Georgia can "upset" Tennessee and put them back in their place. I do not want a strong Tennessee poaching our state any more than they already do.

i like:

We have our open date before Fla (I know they do too, but we went many years without that equalization). I like Fla playing at Arkie right after our game, that might be an L for them.

TN playing Fla, at UGA, at A&M, then Bama. There are 2 Ls in there for sure.

Auburn being between the hedges.

Ole Piss playing Bama before our game.

Very underrated facet of every season. Thanks for putting this together, WG

That game against Ole Miss could be huge for this season. Like you said, any week following playing Bama will be tough to get up for.

Our trap game this year definitely looks like USCe

Awesome post. Very interesting to see.

I also noted that 3 teams (UGA, Missouri, Arkansas) have an off week before playing UF. Hopefully this will make it tougher on them.

Probably followed by an improving UK team. Sitting in between a UF game that is obviously circled on the calendar and Auburn, which by that time of the year could very well have had a turnaround (expect them when you least expect them, amirite?)

Having to go to Williams-Brice (where we haven't won since Stafford & Moreno) after @Mizz, @OM, UT definitely would be a CMR let down. Time will tell with Kirby, but this looks like a hidden L
