It happens. But we also survived and got out with a W after losing Carter and getting a ton of shitty calls.....and I won't even mention Lambert's performance.

The Defensive line and backers were dominant and looked really good. Also, Chubb had 190 yds and Sony was unstoppable in the open field.

Let's shake it off and get our shite together. Everyone's looking shaky on week two .... And we've had games like this in the past that we weren't able to pull out a W. Rub some dirt on it you pussies because we have get ready for those pricks from Cola next weekend.

That is all.

Chubb 35 for 309 and 8.828 ypc

Sony 18 for 97 and 5.38 ypc

KM 15 for 84 and 5.6 ypc

Pretty clear who needs to be toting the rock in crunch time...and its not the two cats who were doing it today.

I know Sony brings an extra element with his ability to split out wide but, Chubb needs to be the only option between the tackles when we have to have first downs to run out a clock.

Where was the screen game today?
Not very many toss sweepers or off tackle runs either.

Diffrent coach

Seems we have abandoned all the shite we have abused people with the last few years. I really miss the toss sweep. I think I seen one and it went for a big gainer the entire game. None ran last week.

My understanding is that we are still keeping our playbook as secret as possible. Until we are actually losing a game, we are running vanilla shite and winning on talent mismatch.

NCAA requires we hand our own tape of our own games over to our opponents for the specific purpose of the other team studying it.

I understand the vanilla.

But Lambert still sucks.

Have we even attempted a deep ball this year?
Seems last week, two tight end sets...this week hurry up spread...

They best settle this shite down and find an identity.

The "vanilla" is a crock of shite. We have used this term in the past as an excuse for incompetence on offense. That ends up being the only flavor we have.

Sony Michel needs to get the ball in space. Whether from outside runs, screens, or flat routes. I don't understand why Schotty insists on running dives with Michel and Marshall.

As unthrilling as our victory was. We looked better than Auburn Missouri Arkansas Florida South Carolina and Tennessee did this week.

THe offense will get more wrinkles as the season goes on. That's just how football works...

I'm hoping to see Chubb and Michel in the same background a few times next Saturday. Ignore either to your peril.

South Carolina will not respect our passing game, nor should they. Splitting Michel out wide with Chubb in the backfield might could change that.

Having both back there with a play action to one and having the other float out to the flat as a receiver? It would drive the LB's nuts.

That would be sweet....

There will be many new wrinkles. I refuse to take the game today too seriously

I'm not worried about the formations. Even today we expanded it out a lot from last week. The problems with our passing game were the big issue.

It's not unreasonable to be concerned about things after today though. Lambert looked nervous as hell all day and threw some bad balls. Some really bad ones. He didn't sense pressure at all and waves the ball around more freely than he should when the pocket is collapsing. A team with a good pass rush will take advantage of that and swat it out of his hands more than the once that Vandy did. He seemed a lot different than he did last week. And this wasn't in an even remotely intimidating atmosphere.

And I don't know what's going on with Morgan but our kicking game is a huge liability.

Plenty of positives too though. Jenkins was unstoppable. They didn't have an answer for him. Bellamy stood out to me too. The pass rush is unfair. We know the deal with the RBs, it's impressive how Michel is always moving his feet and finds ways to slip through the line.

I am worried about lambert but something seemed so false with how he performed throughout the game. Look at the difference between the first half and the second. Somethiny is happening behind the scenes. What? I don't know. But I doubt many have a true insight in what's going on with our QBs right now.

The second half seemed like more plays designed for him to throw it to a designated receiver to get him more comfortable. Good for getting him more comfortable but bad for using as a plan against good teams. I was just surprised how much less comfortable he looked back there this week compared to last week. The environment was weak and, even though Mason is a really good defensive coach, it was Vandy.
