To make this very clear, the offense is championship caliber.

Averaging 40 pts. a game through two games.

Even more bewildering is it had been raining significantly throughout the 2nd half. It's inexcusable to defend this clown man.

How? Because he had a bad call? No one is saying he's perfect. He's a really good coordinator and has the statistics to back it up. People calling him "blowbo" or a clown need to grow the frick up.

Because if I am South Carolina and in that situation I am going to stack the box and go after Gurley.

How would you counter that if you were Bobo? Run a play action, maybe?

That unbelievable call is and remains universally panned. Whether you like it or not. Maybe worse call ever. It is not about the body of work, but probably losing or at least guaranteeing losing the game at that juncture.

It is simply not defend-able and is not defended save for the scant few on this board.

I blame Swann for getting tackled on the 4.

Why was it the "worse" call ever? Because it didn't work? Because Hutson got the grounding call? You know what should have happened? Either a TD or an incomplete pass. We had a receiver open but the end stayed home. The only reason this is an argument is because of the flag. Otherwise it's 2nd down from the 4.

But by all means fire his arse for that one play. This is the kind of stupidity that shows itself after a loss.

Please find one time in this thread that I said fire him. Don't put words in my mouth.

It as a terrible call, horrendous. Even the, to quote Elaine Benes, "hipster dufus" of the Rolling stone knows that.

It's only a terrible call because it didn't work. But by all means continue to call the guy "blowbo" for breaking offensive records and scoring 40 pts a game.

The problem that most have with Bobo is he can put points on the board but at the most crucial points in the game, he becomes Captain Catastrophe.

one thing that has gotten overlooked is that Swann was actually tackled at the 8, and then after that stupid penalty where they called the USCe guy for illegal blocking when he was actually trying to make the tackle, it moved up to the 4...that would have been 4 more yards to work with...so maybe Bobo doesn't think he has to get cute.

1) those points in the game have only been crucial because the defense has been horrid the past two years.
2) You're leaving out times where that hasn't been the case. See: LSU, UT, AU, GT in 2013

Intangibles man. Can't control the fans, the weather, or the refs. Still have to find a way to win the game regardless of the calls and we didn't.

LSU: Busted coverage
UT: Got almost no yardage
AU: Murray had to scramble to score.
GT: I can almost give you this one.

Speaking of 2013, his call for play-action in our own endzone against Florida almost cost us that game. He should have run the damn ball Saturday night.

The thing is, as Chili Dawg said in another thread, Carolina was most definitely selling out on the run. How many were in the box? Also - they were tight on the boundries and looking to stop the sweep. So then what? There were several runs that Gurley tried that went for zero or even a loss. I am not so sure it was a bad call as much as bad execution.
