I get the sense that the majority of UGA posters on here are cautiously optimistic about a Georgia win today, if not outright convinced that we are gonna win.I offer a couple of things for your sense of optimism.

1. Average power ranking of opponents thus far
LSU - 67 (out of 126 BCS schools)
UGA - 33 (out of 126 BCS schools)
As LSU fans see it, the cajun cotillion that has made its way to Athens is a worldbeating, offensive machine with a more than servicable defense. Add to this, their perception of a heisman in the waiting QB, and all of a sudden, a running back that is better than Gurley and should be offensive player of the year...in their eyes at least. This is easy guys, if I'm buying or selling today, based on what's happened so far, I'm selling as far as LSU is concerned.

2. UGA's Defense!
What?!? you might say, Firewind is hangin' out with Tyrone Biggums and smokin' the crack rock!
NO! Let's look at this with a full glass of Kool Aid.
Each week, the defense has made improvement. The South Carolina game really saw the defense start to get a feel for the field of play, communication was better, and they generally harrassed Shaw all day long, and let's remember, Shaw was a VERY mobile qb. The second half of that game saw UGA yield only 6 points, and make a spectacular goal line stand to help solidify the game. In that game, it was no wonder that the front 7 had a better second half, as Grantham used 21 different players in the game in those 7 positions. Rotation was key to keeping the d line and linebackers with fresh legs.
The North Texas game told us even more. While the Mean Green put up 21 on the scoreboard, only seven were surrendered by the defense, as we all know where the other two scores came from. Add to this that their rushing total for the ENTIRE game was SEVEN yards. Overall, the defense had a good day last saturday.
LSU returns just 3 starters in their front 7, not exactly overwhelming odds for them to be better up front than we are. Today, look for Floyd and Jenkins to have a career day against Mettenberger statue.

More random reasons why we win today.....

The game is in Athens

It will be a RED OUT

if you haven't seen the "Awaken the Nation " hype video that was released yesterday, do it now! Even LSU fans would pull for UGA after seeing it.

We have Gurley, Quavon, and Murray

Mett will try too hard to impress the real home folks, and the Dawgs will make him pay. Look for Mett to give up at least 2 picks.

And for fricks sake, we win because The Firewind has said we will!!!

that LSU azz like a
