JHC was the third leading tackler on our team
Isn't that a bad thing when your safety is one of your leading tacklers? It means players are getting past our front seven so often, that our last resort in the deep second layer or third layer is making too many tackles.
You don't necessarily praise safeties for leading in tackles. You point out the deficiencies in the front seven that make that even possible. What you should praise safeties for are passes defended, int's, red zone stops, and keeping plays over 20 yards to a minimum.
JHC literally lost us a game. It's not often that a single player can get blamed for that. Like virtually never. Unless on the very last freaking play of a game on a near Hail Mary pass, that if defended properly means your team did what it takes to win the game, you instead directly cause the ball to land in the receiver's hand, then yes, the loss is solely on you.
His contributions, where it really matters, weren't anything special. I have no doubt that we have a safety on this team that will play better than he did.

Normally this would be true but with granthams scheme he was in the star position alot of the time which plays up front and attributed to where he got most of his tackles. He still sucks in my book.

It may in fact be indicative of poor play from the front seven, but he still made the tackle when he needed to. I'm not defending him at all. Just stating that he contributed to some degree.
Maybe, but then again I think he should've been an olb instead of a safety anyways. Also, it would be hard to compare the play of a safety under Pruitt's tutelage to one under Grantham's. Different coaching abilities and different coaching styles.
Again I'm glad the kid is gone though.

That's great news! Pruitt said Deloach impressed him the most during spring workouts. We need all the bodies we can get for the opener.
