Plus, I know myself pretty well, and even if I told myself I'd stay relatively sober since I'd be getting up early to drive to athens the next morning, I probably wouldn't. Probably best that I don't go I suppose.
That's what I'm thinking. Having a quality day of imbibing adult beverages in Athens before the first big game of the year is going to deserve more of my attention than seeing some bands that, while I like them, I'm not over the moon determined to see live. It'd be cool but I'm not going to break an appointment for it.

Yeah at least last year had a few that I really wanted to see. Don't really care for Elton John but would watch and Van Halen is really old so I'm not sure how good they'll be. Seems like they spent most of their money on Drake and Elton then scrambled for the rest

VH and Sam Smith cost them just as much.

I saw Elton a few years ago. Nice songs still and he is still Elton, but he can't hit the high notes anymore, has a cover singer. And no showmanship believe it or not. Just sits at the piano and sings. I would rather see VH with DLR if he has to croak it out than with Hagar, one of the worst replacement singers ever.
And who wouldn't want to see Billy Idol. Yes, I am old.
Lorde was awesome last year. Eminem was so-so for me.

Eminem, Jack White, and Lorde were the only reasons I went last year. 2013 was easily their best year so many great bands

Which one of these bands is suppose to attract the shroom gobbling neo-hippie spasm-dancing hacky sack birgade? Those frickers will spend their parents money no matter what the cost.....in order to be seen at these things.
This line-up makes no business sense IMO.

That's the last time I went to Music Midtown. What was that 03-04? Seems like they had more bug bands then, of course in was younger and followed all of that stuff. I know about 4or5 of the bands playing this year. Not worth going to for me. Oh, and of course Elton is playing in Midtown.

Run the Jewels was apparently very underwhelming at the GaTh. I love their studio stuff so maybe they'll be better at Midtown.
