I’m still wait and see. He does have some young, promising, talent with Demary, Cain, and James. We have a high 5 star PF coming in next year. If he can strike gold in the portal like Tennessee and a few others have, he can have a pretty solid team next year. If it doesn’t work out with White, I hope we target Will Wade or Pitino. Unfortunately, with NIL and Recruiting being the key factors to success, it will take a guy like I mentioned to turn the program around.

there are some exceptions, but our fans don't know shite about basketball. "why cant we be good at basketball????" coming from someone that will admit they havent watched a game in 10 years once you ask them a couple questions

I’m not necessarily advocating for Pitino more than using him as an example of a slimy human behind the scenes that gets shite done. If he turns St John’s around, IDK what more people will ask of him. Wade obviously is dirty AF too but could recruit out the arse.

I get it. Harrick was old as Jesus too, but virtually flipped our program in 2 years. I still believe to this day, if Dooley doesn’t pull us out of not only the SECT and obviously the NCAA, that was a final 4 type team.

Harrick knew how to play the game then. The $$$ is a lot bigger now. I think it was actually easier then because kids were getting paid a small fraction of what they are getting paid now. $50k under the table got you a lot back then

harrick was only 60 or so when he started with us. 60 to 70 is a world of difference in my book, but i definitely get your point.

Harrick was maybe the best coach we've ever had, but I can't compare any coach in our history to modern day except for Crean, because all those other guys didn't have to deal with the total shite state of college athletics that white (and crean) does. There is zero telling how good (or bad) we may have been under tubby/durhma/harrick if they had to re-recruit everyone on yoru roster every year to keep them from leaving, in addition to recruiting every other team's roster to try to get guys to fill out spots.
