I say this to all... if you find yourself thinking anyone who disagrees with you is stupid, what happens when you mature and learn and maybe change your opinion? Were you stupid before or do you become stupid? I see this from both sides, but especially liberal sides. (The assuming opinions not in line with your's are stupid) It just comes off as smug. When it gets to that point, it seems more of a social marker than a true interest in the actual political process.

There is a parallel between politics and college football. Both are things we have little control over other than a donation or a vote, yet some let it consume them to the point that it becomes much of their identity. Sidewalk Bama fans think they are somehow better than a UGA grad because thy picked the better ballclub, but at the end of the day, not much changes in your life, regardless of who wins the big one...

Let me ask you this...do you believe that trump was unamerican when he said he would wait to decide on concession until after the votes are tallied?

Also, are you a supporter growing liberal idea that we should use the popular vote to determine our president instead of the electoral college?

Cobbdawg, these are both serious questions so please answer them so.

Uplifting sea of red belies the fact that Democrats/liberal progressives control most of the population centers, education institutions, media and technology centers. I am thankful that Trump was elected in an amazing upset but long term I am not optimistic about the future of our nation considering the demographic trends and liberal dominance over most forms of media and education.

You are absolutely correct. Control the schools and you control the youths minds.

Who cares. It's people that tell the real story.

It's interesting that 65% of the wealth is in those blue regions... Probably most of the education, too. I can't wait to see how this all plays out over the next few years.

The electoral college is in place because the forefathers did not want a section of the country to control the laws and governance of the rest of the nation. In other words, they did not want California and New York to control the rest of the country. As for education? I've known some educated people that were not real smart, and some uneducated people that were brilliant.

Though it seems that what we got was places like Wyoming and Kentucky controlling the rest of the country.

Not sure how that is any better or more fair.

Slice and dice however you want but the fact remains: It's going to be a divided country...at least until something other than the polarized, two-party system emerges.

Would have been nice if Trump had actually been a real revolutionary and turned out to go against both parties and for common sense. Not sure there's been any evidence of that happening so far...not based on most of the cabinet picks. Seems more like attempt to regurgitate Reaganomics.

There's no way you actually thought that through before you typed it. No way in hell.

Huh? I didn't say it wasn't accurate, dipshit.

Let's try this. Please explain to us what point you think you are making when you point out that 65% of the wealth is in the blue areas.

It's merely an observation....and an interesting contrast that a Presidency and cabinet of billionaires and millionaries has sold themselves as saviors of the white lower middle and middle classes in the red areas.

I think it will be interesting to see if that's how it looks 3 or 4 years from now...or if it actually turns out to be of greater benefit to the blue regions.

Let's check back in 4 years....

Are you capable of understanding that much of those "red areas" were actually blue last time around?

Look again. There a re a lot more states than that. Think about it. You have large population centers that would make laws best suited for large population centers dictating laws to the rest of the nation. There is more to the country than New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

I don't think anybody would disagree with that. It would be the same had the Dems won, though, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Actually, it is his cabinet picks that give me some hope. I am for a small Federal government with fewer bureaucracies. His picks have, by and large leaned in that direction. You want revolution? It looks as if he is ready to burn down the old government way of doing things.

Is that good? I honestly don't know. But I do know that the old way of doing things wasn't doing very well.

Easily duped! And they may regret it...but probably never admit it.

But you said blue areas are the richer and more educated areas.

Democratic talking points. What do they NOT say when they are criticizng the rich?

Barrack Obama-Net worth: 12.2 Million dollars
Bill Clinton-Net Worth 80 Million Dollars
Hillery Clinton-45 Million Dollars
Rahm Emanuel-Net Worth 14 Million Dollars
Al Gore- Net Worth 200 Million Dollars

And what do the Democrats do? They run around talking about rich white folks in the Republican party like being rich is evil.
"Millionaires and Billionaires!"
"1 Percenters!"

The Democratic Party is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

Millionaires and billionaires indeed.

Who do you think Bill and Hillery Clinton have been benefitting the past 8 years with their $200,000 speaking fees to Wall Street?

And again the converse: Should laws suitable for rural areas and small towns be imposed on large population centers?

Frankly...I like Trump's notion...if he had just been honest about it. Let's TRULY let the states and cities determine their own fate.

Believe me...those folks in NYC, LA, SF or any other big city want about as much to do with small town Georgia as the other way around...

Lacan wouldn't have existed without Frued though and I love me some Lacanian psychoanalysis as far as literary criticism goes.

You don't understand why some states have more electoral votes than others do you?
