They'll probably get rid of Pruitt first.

I guess you wouldn't have cared if we missed on Herschel either. Eason is the most talented recruit since then.
Holy shite....the things that Richt Lovers come up with.
Eason is definitely a great recruit, top 10 in the nation, but he's not even the #1 recruit this year.
If you cannot fire a coach due to one recruit, then your program is in a shitty situation.

This. I almost want the kid to go somewhere else for his sake, because there is no way he lives up to the preposterous expectations being set by some in the fan base.

In a shitty situation is exactly where we are. To say that Eason is not the number one recruit is nuts from the UGA point of view. We don't have a QB and Eason is far and away the best pro style guy.
I think every outcome depends on how we look over the next four games. With Schottenheimer calling plays for a depleted offense, I can't be optimistic.

No I agree with you. Eason is definitely UGA's top target but that doesn't mean he's the best thing since sliced bred. The guy I responded to said that Eason is the best recruit since Walker...which is simply not true at all. I think 24/7 composite has Eason as #7 in the nation.
One player shouldn't make the entire team. Team's have one NC's without great QBs. and when a Richt Supporter tells me that we shouldn't fire Richt because we will lose Eason....I just get disgusted. Is our program so pathetic that we are afraid to lose one recruit?

Fire Richt and next year we still don't have a qb so its a continuation of this year and all the Richt supporters say told ya so.
Not really. You would have to look at the record. If the new coach has a better record without a QB, then the Richt detractors could say told you so. If it is worse than Richt, the Richt supporters could say "Told you so"
I am a Richt supporter, but every time we lose a game, no matter by how much or what the circumstances too many people come out of the woodwork screaming for his head. I almost wish he would leave, then we could sink into oblivion like so many seem to want.

Who wants to sink into that place?

You know, richt supporters for being better fans than us sure are pushing the envelope. Multiple times I've seen someone l to want us to fail if we do relieve Richt to "teach the bad fans".
That's so god damn stupid that it doesn't even merit a response.

Apparently those of us that want better. Those of us that aren't happy with being stuck in UGA's version of Groundhog Day. Those of us that envision UGA as something worthy of more than 9 or 10 wins and visit to Orlando or Tampa on New Year's day. Those of us that are tired of watching everybody else around us go to the dance.

I read an article today that basically said you can't fire Richt because he hasn't run the program completely in the ground.

But if he does, you can't fire him because he hasn't driven it into the Earth's core yet; and if he does, you can't fire him because he hasn't driven it through and out the other side yet; and if he does, you can't fire him because he hasn't hit Mars yet...then Jupiter, and so on. For the Richt disciples, there literally is no point at which you can actually get rid of "the greatest coach ever". You can *maybe* think about it, but he always has to be given one more chance, because "things could be worse".

It's not to hard to understand that whether you want Richt gone or not, we all presumably want the same ultimate thing which is to see UGA succeed. Just different opinions as to what's needed to see that happen.
Using the argument that people want UGA to fail because they have a different opinion from yours as to who should be the HC is incredibly stupid.

To me (and others), there isn't much of a difference between 9-3 every year with a shitty Florida bowl game or 6-6 with a shitty Shreveport bowl game. Neither scenario involves winning anything worth writing home about.
With Richt, you're always gonna get the 9-3 with a shitty Florida bowl game and never win anything. With someone else, you could get 6-6 or you could get someone who can take this program to the level it can go. Georgia has so much more potential than fighting for a spot in the Outback Bowl every year. It's time to find the right coach to reach that potential.
After 15 years, Georgia should be at the point where 9-3 is a complete and utter failure of a season.
