I see. Well I think people really should consider the message that they're sending these young boys by allowing them to play when they don't live up to standards that have been set for them. It's the same message that we as a culture have sent to them since they were in high school and it's the same message that we send to professional athletes, that they are above the law.

If these boys cannot honor the simple rules that a school has set for them then how long before they take it to the next level and really break laws? I'm often critical of Mark Richt and what I see to be his flaws, but honestly at some point you have to be grateful that we have a coach that does try to hold these kids to a higher standard. I may have lost my faith in CMR and his ability to ever make Georgia an elite program, but I remain convinced that he comes to work every day not only to coach football players, but to make men out of boys. I believe he attempts to teach these boys the discipline that will inform their lives and give them choices.

For all of my bitching and ranting I'm thankful that in this society of fast fixes and get rich quick attitudes that our school still attempts to demand some semblance excellence from its student athletes.
