Linebacker Jordan Jenkins referred to Grantham, now at Louisville, as “an NFL coach.” It wasn’t meant as a compliment.

"He’s good with guys who aren’t wrong,” Jenkins said. “But young guys would get confused (at his scheme). I just feel like we all are going to understand things a lot more now.

I was in a meeting today when he was going over a play, and coach Pruitt said, ‘Now, don’t not listen to me about this play just because it doesn’t relate to your position. Knowing this will help you understand the defense.’

“While he was speaking, I kept picturing myself in a similar situation last year where if I understood the principle better I could’ve made a play. I got goose bumps just thinking about it. Really, I got goose bumps.”

Floyd reiterated the point in a 247 interview with Gentry saying that the pre-snap communication is a lot better than last year.

ETA: as I keep reading, he says the Playbook is a lot more simple. Our guys won't have to think as much and will be able to just play full speed.

Deeprig doesn't really have much to stand on.

I wonder how complicated our plays were compared to say Alabama or LSU?

Apparently, you thought wrong. Don't be adding yourself to your 'smart person list' anytime soon.

Our defense was shite last year. Accept that you're wrong and just walk it off. You'll be back.

I like Pruitt's attitude and there's certainly cause for optimism but a reality check tells me that Pruitt doesn't have the same level of talent he had at FSU especially in the secondary. Let me put it this way: if Pruitt makes a championship level defense out of this group he has to work with, he might well be a candidate for DC of the year.

Everybody including analyst and fans say that Pruitt had more talent at FSU last year. The thing is we (UGA) have a lot of defensive talent. Yea, we lost the two dipshits that gifted the shite birds a win and some other ones but you know what...frick em, we'll move on. Pruitt has a lot of talent to work with. Lorezo Carter could be the second coming of Clowney and Fentag could pull pick six's. We have maybe the best linebacker corp in the country. I may have drank a ton of the coolaid this weekend but I believe that Pruitt will do a fast turn around in 2014 and our D will be vastly improved. He was at FSU for one year and said that he really wanted to work with Richt. He never even consulted Jimbo(per his interview), he just packed his bags and left for the classic city.

Pruitt doesn't have to field a defense better than the one he had last year at FSU.

If he fields a defense better than our defense last year, then he will have done his job.

I think they will be better, substantially. That being said, this is the part of the year where everything is great and everybody loves everybody, but I confess I feel alot better about Pruitt than I ever felt about Grantham. Grantham seemed like a politician to me, full of shite.
