Well, it's official now.....
The G.O.A.T. will play next week and test whether or not he's cured of the chipping yips.........on some of the tightest lies found anywhere on planet earth.
This could be a disaster. Or it could be Legendary. Either way, I have to admire him for pushing his chips to the center of the table and going all in this soon with his legacy/image on the line like it is...............

I really like Rickie. I know he caught some major shite the first time he showed up with an untucked shirt and his flatbill but the dude can play and its a matter of time before he gets his major. If it isn't Tiger or a UGA guy, I hope Ricke throws that green jacket on

Just sort of day dreaming here, but how beautiful would it be if there were something like 3 UGA guys in the top 6 on Sunday?
That's really what I want to see this year, a group of dawgs atop the leader board at the end.

Rickie catches a lot of shite for dressing like a d bag, as he should. But he's a really good dude and a really good golfer. I root for him.
And as for Tiger. Idk what to make of it. He knows he's not ready. Just seems like an instance where the closer the tournament got, he got jealous that he wouldn't get to play. And you can't catch Jack if you don't play...

I feel like Rickie is one of the most well-liked guys on tour and he genuinely seems like a good dude. His reactions when Bubba holed the chip this year in China, or when Matt Jones made a long putt to force a playoff against Kuch last year in Houston were incredibly classy and I root for the kid. But just like you, I'd root for him a lot harder if he didn't dress like a complete fool out there.

Fowler is a marketing genius....
Dude's won all of one time as a pro, yet he's made himself one of the most high-profile and marketable players on tour.
Seems like he's grown up and matured a little bit, but notice how he keeps the dorky flat-bill. That thing makes him millions.

Russell Henley is on the leaderboard in Texas right now. Compton also playing well.
Could be some good momentum coming in..

I mean finishing in the top 5 for every major last season definitely helped him marketability, but you are absolutely right about the flat bill. His look gets him the commercials and a lot of recognition. If I hadn't heard really good things about him as a person it would bother me more.

He seems like a pretty good dude.
It's just bizarre/funny that if you asked someone who doesn't follow golf to name some pro golfers....they'd probably rattle off Tiger, Phil, and Ricky Fowlers names or a few others. Yet his name doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those two. Yet.

Completely agree. He won once at Quail Hollow, but that's it and I think that was in 2011 or 12. He's young, and has played well at a couple majors and WGC events but you'd really expect a guy of his caliber to have more than 1 win. It's pretty similar to how Furyk has played over the last few years. Pretty consistent, but can't win. Furyk has just blown leads vs. Fowler who just steadily stays top 10.

That pretty much sums it up.
You never see many of Ricky's shots on the highlight reel. Seems like the consistent winners are always pulling freak shots out of their arse and draining a few 30-footers or something..
Side note: I just checked leaderboard on my PGA app and a giant picture of Flat-bill Boy appeared asking me to enter to 'win a chance to meet Ricky'. So maybe it's the tour marketing him also....

I'm awed by how far tiny guys like Fowler can hit a golf ball.
Posted on 4/4/15 at 3:17 pm to AllDawg
How bout Rory. That guy is like 5-9, 160 and he hits be ball about as far as anyone on tour. His torque is insane.

Looks like your boy Spieth is dialed in. He's definitely going to be a factor next week, it would seem...
