Falcons should make a move for Stephen Jackson from the Rams after the season. He still has a few more good years in him.

+1. Jackson is a great player who has been trapped on a terrible team for several years now. Will probably cost a lot to get him though

we do not need turner or s jackson. My buddy was saying we need to get bryce brown, which would be good if we could. We don't need to use a early draft pick on a rb, none really stand out just yet. I'm sure we can get a later round value pick @ rb.

Stephen Jackson? He's gonna be 30 next yr (thats ancient for an NFL RB) He has almost 2400 career attempts...once again, that's way too much tread on the tire to waste FA money on.

You can get much younger legs in the draft for far less money. Jake Long is gonna be the money player they NEED to sign next yr in the FA market period..

Not going to reply to posts individually but:

Stephen Jackson

No... Just no. I love what he's been able to do on a shite team but he's not getting any younger.

Bryce Brown

I would be on board with this, but there is almost no way Philly would deal him. They'd be more likely to trade LeSean McCoy based on what we've seen from BB so far (albeit a small sample size.) They'd get more for him and BB costs them peanuts. Add that plus the giant question mark they'll have at QB and I think you'll see them backslide a bit further before they improve. If that's the case, what does paying McCoy do for you over the next 2 seasons?

Jake Long

Absofrickinglutely. Our O-Line is piecemeal at best. They've been better this year but not great to say the least.

Draft priorities

Getting a RB is a "priority," just not a early round priority. You've got to be able to assess talent and try to find the value pick around round 5-6... seems to be a pretty good spot for RBs... maybe ask Shanahan how the hell he does it! Early picks should be to improve O-line, Defense, and/or pick up a TE to take over for Tony G (hopefully AFTER next year but guy seems pretty set to go.)

Quizz

I agree he's not the full time solution, but I like him a LOT. Sort of a Sproles lite at this point, but with our receiving talent and improving our actual RB spot with a more physical runner and I think you see him get even better. There is a lot of value in a back with his skill set.

Bryce Brown has been impressive running although the fumbling is an isue as well as his dimunitive size. I doubt the Eagles will be willing to part with him cheap even with McCoy. I get that S. Jax has been around awhile but he still has alot more left in the tank than Turner and by all accounts is a team leader that would fit in with the Falcon's locker room. If we could get him for like a 4th round pick which is what I've been hearing I'd pull the trigger and go with a tandem of him and Quizz with some Snelling sprinkled in.

He's an unrestricted free agent after this season. Rams allowed him to void final year of contract. No picks just cash right?

<eta> His contract for 2012 with the Rams was going to be $7 million. Not sure where the Falcons sit with salary cap space but could be interesting if he's willing to take a 3-4 year contract at a lower per year number but more guaranteed and good incentive pay structure.
