I personally think Deion Sanders is a terrible fit for Tech

Keep hearing his name, but I just don’t see it.

What’s going to be his biggest strength? Recruiting.

What would jeopardize that? An engineering school with stringent academic requirements.

The man is already rich. Tech has nothing to offer him in terms of legacy or money.

There is zero chance of that. If you know any Tech nerds, this shite will not happen.

Deion would be foolish to take the Tech job, but don’t underestimate a man’s pride which rich people have in spades. He probably truly thinks he deserves a shot at a P5 job. Come to think of it, He’s probably waiting for FSU.

I think Deion is hoping FSU opens up in near future.

I can’t hate Tech anymore. They’re a shell of the football program they used to be, and will never be again. But a guy like Sanders will NEVER be the HC there.

Tech’s problem is a lack of passion for the football program, which leads to a lack of financial support. Whoever can fix that will have a shot. Until then, Saban couldn’t win too much there with their current level of support/ buy in

Is there even a future generation of Tech fans?

Most of the Tech students I knew 4-5 years ago were only interested in their degree and had just a passing interest in football. And they sure as hell aren't getting any sidewalk fans at the moment.

Deion at Georgia State could kill it though. Atlanta area recruiting plus an easier schedule. That would be somewhat scary.

Why do I always feel like Prime is about to say or do something embarrassing to him or his school?

This is kind of what I see as well. Most of my Tech friends are in their 40's. Tech is becoming more and more of an academic focused school. I don't see any chance that Deion goes to Tech either. They don't have the money or close to a good situation to offer an incoming coach. They are in a worse situation than we are in basketball.

me too. Not only would it add a little flavor to the rivalry, it'd ensure we continue dominating them yearly.

It absolutely blows my mind how the national media has run wiht the idea that deion is some coaching savant that could step into tech or FSU and just start winning right away. He can walk into these homes and say "I'm deion sanders" and get kids to jackson state where they play other HBCU teams and cruise to wins but that shite aint gonna fly in the big leagues. Do we have any concept at all of how good he can actually COACH?

Exactly! He is playing against a different level of athlete at Jackson St than he would be if he were at a P-5 school.

It would be a huge risk for any P-5 school to hire him.

Making AFLAC commercials with Saban does not necessarily mean you can coach like Saban.

While Tech’s obviously a very fine school, academically, they achieved in football in a very different environment than today. Kids today want to play in an energized environment with lots of fan support and some chance at success. Tech no longer has any of that and probably never will again.

They all ignore that having a pair of blue chip recruits in HBCU competition is akin to having a nuclear arsenal in your locker room. Like playing NCAA with the sliders on Freshmen.

And it's funny to see people claim he has some well-founded Saban/Kirby level recruiting prowess. He very well could be the best recruiter in the nation, but simply getting 2 blue chips at Jackson State isn't proof of the capability for sustained recruiting success at a P5 job.

I think a lot of schools would take the chance with Deion. I really don't know how well he can coach. I'm sure he would try to surround himself w/ top notch coordinators; something he probably doesn't need to do at Jackson State.

I welcome Deion to lead the Bees. Let him control recruiting, boosters and his own brand on a national level. I just want to see this.

Depends on what happens this year. Norvel was only given a one year extension, and that was for 2022. He’s started off well, and if FSU wins 8 or 9 plus a bowl game, he’ll get a multi year contract.
