I am kind of surprised to hear Harbaugh come and flatly deny his team was stealing signs. His lawyers must feel there is no evidence. Seems like he had to say something either way and take the 5th. I suppose he knows he can just go back to the NFL.

My big question is how all this came to light. Who broke this story? Who intercepted this information and published it? Who was spying on the spy?

Not sure if this is what started the investigation, but there were people being filmed filming signals in multiple stadiums. The guy (staffer) that was filming then was filmed and had his lips read after providing the signals standing next to the OC and DC. The staffer bought the tickets with a credit card in his own name. The staffer then refused to cooperate with the investigation and resigned from Michigan.

I’d add, that people “steal” signals all the time in game. The rules that were broken were specifically attending an opponent’s game to steal signals and the second rule being broken was filming signal callers.

Does Michigan University have a culture of cheating?
I wonder about that 2013 South Carolina bowl game against Michigan. The refs tried to save a Michigan win by awarding a first down that way obviously short of the line to gain.
Were the refs bribed? Maybe, but Jadeveon Clowney had other ideas.
