because he keeps that useless defense off the field.

Georgia's defense has showed nothing this year.

I was waiting the whole game yesterday for the defense to make a good play. Finally, they stopped South Carolina on the 2, but that was only because Spurrier stupidly used the shotgun inside the 5 yardline. What a stupid scheme.

I've been very unimpressed with Georgia's defense this year. I thought they were supposed to be talented.

I'm hoping it's because Clemson and South Carolina's offenses are so good.

Maybe when Georgia plays N. Texas St. the defense will gain some confidence.

Drunks are still ringing the chapel bell. Go get in line, ring that frick out of that bell, and chill the frick out. We're going into a bye week

Nah, he's pissed because the real-a-dawgs are right in this aspect -- it is rare that all three phases click at the same time for a Richt coached team, any team for that matter.

Congrats to Gurley. He may be the best rb many of you have seen at GA. Certainly he is becoming one my favorites.

Congrats, to all of the players, defense included. All played with a lot of heart.

Congrats to Bobo for sticking with the run and creating a game plan for Murray to succeed.

Long time reader, first time poster. I'm extremely happy with the win but I would like to see more hustle out of the defense. There were multiple times where Mathews was just walking around like he was lost. It's a young defense that will only improve with time. Go dawgs!!!!

We've got two true freshmen in the secondary. USCe is no joke. We gave up six points in the second half. I'd say that's stepping up. Still lots of room for improvement. They'll get better.

There is a lot of youth/inexperience on D. Langley got picked on but as a true freshman, you can see a lot of potential there. He'll come around. Still saw a lot of hit-in-lieu-of wrapping up tackling. How many times early on did the USCe D actually lift our ball carrier off the ground wrapping up? THAT is how you tackle. Some of our guys want to hit more than tackle and it costs us a ton of 2d effort yardage.

Totally agree. The ONLY way win against LSU
is to go ultra conservative on offense
and run the clock...sorry guys, make all the excuses
you want about our D's inexperience but what
was our excuse last year?

We ran 76 plays for 536 yds and scored 41 pts and people are still talking about the play calling.

1%er problems I guess

What have you done for me lately?

UGA Defense is averaging giving up 3 points per quarter over the last two quarters of play.

I'd say a 6 quarter learning curve, to 2 top 10 teams, after losing 9 starters is pretty respectable.

By the time we play LSWho in 3 weeks, this Defense will be holding their own and the offense will be putting up 50.

Where did you find that pic of Erk. Damn, could you imagine what this team would be like with an Erk coached D?

I said that gurley was the most important player for the defense after the loss to clemson.

It's fact that the teams with the best scoring defenses in the sec also have the best running games.

The fewer plays, the fewer scores.
It's not that hard.

Great win for the dawgs. we are a very, very tough home team. our best running games are between the hedges. and that dynamic dictates the flow of the game.

As far as I can remember, SouCar ALWAYS runs from the shotgun. I don't ever remember seeing them under the center. (Maybe I am wrong?) That said, I don't ever remember it being a detriment, either. They still seem to put up points, and before the play, I would have bet they would score, too. Don't make the mistake of thinking the defense did not improve. While there is work to be done (they HAVE to be more disciplined staying in their assignments) they took a step forward with that stop. They still tend to leave their assignment and go after the ball, getting bunched up and allowing a mobile QB to pull the ball down and run...but that shows they are pursuing the ball and TRYING to get to the ball. They will eventually understand they have to stay with their assignment. We will see improvement all year. If we can continue to win and make it to the SECCG, we will see a mature, disciplined defense and a formidable offense. Don't get me wrong...we will not see the defense grow much better than average...but with our offense average could be good enough.

Georgia only gave up 6 points in the second half thanks to the offense which held the ball for the final 8 1/2 minutes of the game.
