My Alabama budddy said lookout. I don't know much about him but he said something about a recruiting issue with someone at Alabama and said he was a snake in the grass. It could just be sour grapes but I will reserve judgement.

The recruit he mentioned was Darius Page? Does anyone know this story???

I'm curious now.

Pruitt... for instance.

Or hell... Olivadotti would probably make a hell of a DC and would take half a mil.

I had sort of resigned myself to that idea when the KS rumors hit the brick wall.

It would have been at sabans direction, with pruitt as a conduit. But its a moot point now because its already established a third of them cant read.

The AJC article says he said precisely what I quoted in the OP.

What AJC article? I see no AJC links in this thread.

I can tell you that I heard the actual audio of him speaking on 680.

Agreed, that was just his justification for telling me it was a bad hire and that Pruitt was a snake in the grass. I don't think he would tell a recruit that without Saban's approval or guidance.

A bama guy calling anyone out for recruiting slippery slope is hysterical. App that situation was deemed a ok when looked at by whoever looks at this crap. However, I hope Pruitt knows that shite will never fly if he tries it for uga. The NCAA will be all over it. Lol. The man worked for probst. I sincerely doubt he is a choir boy

I heard the audio of the backbone comment this morning. He did say backbone. In 2011 he was right. 2012 is a stretch. His comment was specific to sec east title years.

His defense was pretty good for the 2011-2012 season. That's about it.
Well, given our competition, not as impressive. Scoring Defense was the one thing we ranked highly in. In the four games we needed his defense most, Boise, USCe, LSU, and Michigan St they didn't play so hot.

That's just classless...no wonder he ended up with Petrino. Even if you really thought that only a total shithead would come out and say it.

What in the world would Petrino want Grantham for? Seriously....that is the question that begs answering....not why the new guy from FSU agreed to a lateral move (I think he is looking at the HC gig in 4 or 5 years).

Grantham was a bust from day one....he has no idea how to coach up the talent he is able to recruit...his system may work like gangbusters with the right talent AND an unlimited amount of time to learn it AND the proper motivation (multi-million $ a year salaries). In the NFL you can buy as many 350 pound nose tackles as you can afford...and the player can spend as much time as he feels is necessary to learn the system and earn that huge salary...college kids don't have that luxury NOR do they have the motivation for the most part. On top of that there are just so many 19 year old 350 pound nose tackles who are able to play in the SEC.

A college coach has to be able to recruit the talent he needs...and when he can't he has to make adjustments and coach up the talent he has available. Grantham is incapable of doing this....and unless he figures it out he is going to be a bust at Louisville also....

Furthermore, he didn't say his defenses were the backbone.

Yes he did.

Grantham...
"When you go back and look, two of the last three years we’ve won the SEC East. We’ve really been the backbone of winning those conference championships," Grantham said.
