Agreed. I think Wren is being pegged as a scapegoat. But, I'm going to remain hopeful that this is a sing of a house cleaning rather than simply doing away with guys like Wren, Pendleton, Mcguirk, and Walker. Personally, I'd just have canned Fredi and maybe an assistant or two and let Wren stay but apparently Schuerholz thinks differently.

They're both problems. Hopefully the next GM tosses Fredi's arse too. Clean house.

Mcjerk is going nowhere...he's a Liberty Media corporate hack.

I do expect Fredi and staff to get the boot along with Wren. Braves are supposedly making a strong push for Dayton Moore (KC GM) and former Schuerholz asst.

I've heard that and I love the idea. KC is really humming. If anything my issue with Atlanta is what my issue with Georgia has been. Complacency. Too many cling to the 90's (like UGA and the 80's) and the GOBN has taken it's toll. When you're already hamstrung by a putrid TV contract and an ownership group who sees you as more of an investment you can't run the team with your old friends and people who were there "with Bobby."

I hear a lot saying that Fredi may make it and I like to think/hope that is BS. And I don't think a lot of people realize Fredi needs to be gone not for his 2014 season but his body of work between his inability to find a leadoff hitter, atrocious bullpen management, some lineups that make me want to burn my house down, or having a really punchable looking face. I mean, frick, had the Red Sox not been there with us idk how Fredi would've gotten off for the collapse. So few remember we were even there only because of the Red Sox.

I just want a break from the past. Shake up the organization. Keep some of the old guard but bring in new life. Georgia somehow has done it now with what I assume is either Richt getting a fire lit under his arse and or the AD doing the same.

I've wanted the three main entities I root for to fire their leadership for half a decade. I have cooled on wanting Georgia cleaned out (satiated by seeing Grantham leave and general apathy has set in), the Jaguars did what needed to be done 5 years ago and then liked firing so much they did it again, and now the Braves are finally getting it.

Hell, even the Hawks front office is committing seppuku. This truly is a time of insane wonderment for Georgia sports.

The Falcons are another collapse from joining them. It's like the ownership groups have looked around and seen that they are all collectively screwing the pooch and that now is time to galvanize the fans.

Hawks probably thought they could energize fans by pretending to be up for stud players every now and then. The Braves did it temporarily with some extensions. The Falcons are pretty no-nonsense so they just got Hard Knocks. And, IMO, while I am all Braves and meh on the Falcons, the Falcons have the best ownership easily and they'll cut fat when it needs to be cut. Blank isn't SUPER invasive (from what I have heard he is a little but not bad) but he is in touch.

I wish he could buy the Braves :|

Development and scouting are EXACTLY where the biggest problems lie. Wren was a hack that jumped the gun on too many bad deals, but he was also being handed horrible scouting information for years. This news is fantastic.

CSB, but the people I know in coaching (not MLB but still counts) always lament how GMs and coaches are usually the guys hung to dry when a really so many teams can point to their scouting depts for the issues.

You see a frick up on the field and want to run out the coach. Others blame the GM. Both are to blame but the staffs they hire are the ones letting bad personnel slip through. But we rarely as angry fans get online bitch about the midwest scout

tl;dr I am with ya, good stuff to hear

Which should have been the first red flag, given that our farm system used to be one of our biggest strengths

Which is nuts considering just a few years ago we had one of the best ones. We still have some talent and Gwinnett has given ATL Gosselin, Bethancourt, La Stella, and etc but there are still some on there that make ya go "huh?" The pitching is what scares me there. What's nutty is that Gwinnett actually was under first-year manager Brian Snitker so they had a little shake up already
