Very well said Jeff, pretty much my emotions exactly... I frickin' hate it, he's prolly the guy I wish I was like in a perfect world... I admire what he stands for & for wearing his beliefs on his sleeve & showing his humility on a regular basis.

BUT... shite gotta give at some point, it gotten past the point where it ain't about the person it's about the program. You can love CMR the man but realize CMR the coach has to go...

You're not disrespecting CMR the man by saying so. Imma sure if he was fired today he'd say he was blessed & humbled by the opportunity he got from UGA & what it's brought to him & his families life & he would mean every word of it...

God bless CMR, he's a great man & mentor but he's become a below average CFB Coach...

You mean the dud OC that Richt, the CEO of the program, hired? Nothing like a sacrificial coordinator to buy CMR a few more years of underacheivement.

That's good to hear then. He deserves that at least. It's sad to think of him no longer being the UGA coach because he has done so much and, like you said, it makes that 2012 SECCG so much more brutal. But it has to be done.

It's weird how all this is moving because I still don't think he resigns/gets fired this year but I could be completely wrong. Just gonna be weird with media and everyone basically acting like he's gone if he ends up staying.

He hired him and I said at the start of this year that Schottenheimer was likely to get him fired.

Just didn't think it would be this soon.

Still, losing your heisman candidate impact player has hurt A LOT this season. Not that Chubb would have changed this or the Bama outcome, but UGA likely beats UT...and then this just looks like a whole bunch of Nebraska type whiners bitching about their coach.

Could have beaten UF by leaving Reggie Davis at home and catching some footballs...

Michel going out early with the busted hand was not helpful either.

I have wanted a change for a while, but I have always been a Mark Richt fan. I'm glad others are starting to understand that we all don't hate Richt for wanting what's best for our university. I've grown so tired of the folks wanting a change being called vicious attackers. We are all Richt fans, we just want what's best.

It's not him. It's us.

He's been okay with sub-par OL recruiting. We're not.

He's all right with missing on QB evaluation more often than not, post-Murray. We're not.

It doesn't bother him that we haven't won a game we weren't supposed to since 's WLOCP. It does us.

He's okay with his OC not being a good mammal and adapting to the personnel that you have to play. We're not.

It is a fine line. 5 more yards and we probably beat Notre Dame and he is golden for life. But that didn't happen and you can't keep getting your arse handed to you in big games.

1929Heisman on FSF posted this, today. Granted, one fan's opinion isn't any more valid than another's, but I like the cut of this guy's jib all the same.

For what it is worth, here are some thoughts I will put forth and look back in December. Not 2017, not signing day...but mid-December. This is not a reaction to the last game.

The last 4 games are pivotal. Winning brings in bigger donations...everywhere but especially UGA, The post-Adams administration is very, Very high on using the football program as the main fundraising enterprise. They believe there is much more to be squeezed from football. (Adams just wanted national research prominence and corporate giving and sponsorship along with football revenue). With the amount of mounting frustration among the donor base, the Administration is very sensitive right now. McGarity is not immune--in fact, there are ideas for his succession regardless of what happens in football. A face for fundraising is what is desired. Timing, however, is not readily clear.

The Adminsitration is aware the coaching staff is fractured. There is infighting. Not all are involved but it is split along offensive and defensive staffs and loyalties. Will Friend's departure was telling despite previous friendships. Watch what happens internally if there is more blood in the water.

So, here are my thoughts on the Richt Referendum: If Richt wins 1 of 4; gone. If he wins 2 of 4 probably gone. 3 of 4--stay but some staff cleaning. 4 of 4--it's a miracle and hell is frozen. Without any offense 0 for 4 is possible (we have two option teams that can control the clock and kick field goals--right now, we can't.)

Until then, I will remember in December.

What are the chances of richt stepping down as coach and taking a position like an athletic director or something in the same wheelhouse. Richt still gets to help the young men and be part of the program.

Why was Friends leaving telling? He took a chance to be an OC at a D1 school.

There is no question that his reputation has bought him extra time.

Or rather - he won enough in the beginning for people to get to know him as a person off the field, and that has bought him time now when he's not winning.

Derek Dooley might have been just as nice, but he lost immediately. Richt built up goodwill by winning right away.

Yeah, seems like a fair assessment.

Some of the older black Letterman were complaining about him not recruiting black QBs. That jumped out at me in all this mess.

I would take DJ Schockley (senior year) over all other quarterbacks under richt. The problem today is I am not sure we would allow him to run. So if they mean a mobile quarterback, last weekend indicated we would not use the mobility of a quarterback no matter his ethnicity so I am not sure it would matter.

Just listening to the radio call in show, Davin Bellamy said they knew they needed to give up 0 points to win.

There is only one line to read through there.
