Despite our resume, no one takes us seriously as a final top 4 for the CFP. They talk all day about ND assuming we'll loose to Bama and then ND's resume - since they will of course win out, will trump us in the end. bullshite. Plus, How in the hell is Penn State better than us in the "smell test"? Iknow - win out and we;re golden - but are we? I want Penn State, f-in Ohio State, Bama, and TCU to all have losses/extra losses come December. I know many want ND to win to help our stock - I thin not. Win out and we are top 4. Thoughts?

Just need to win out and make it to the SECCG. After that, we will see if we are a playoff team.

I was going to post about this as well.

Frick Herbstriet - that guy is such a tool.

His whole argument ignores that UGA beat ND and instead focuses solely on schedule.

If anything, his moronic point of view shows how flawed this system is.

It basically proves that if you lose early, regardless to the team, that all is forgiven. But - if you lose only 1 game and that game is the conference championship that it denies your team any chance of making the playoff. Against a team that doesn’t even play a conference championship game at that!

Even the argument that Bama would get in if we beat them based on their pedigree is a farce.

The only part of that whole segment I enjoyed was watching the others on the panel laugh at Herbies ridiculous way of thinking.

I agree that all we have to do is take it a week at a time and win and the rest will take care of itself, but if ND gets in ahead of a team that beat them - all hell should break loose.

Regardless of strength of schedule - we went into their house and beat them. Not to mention how we completely shut them down compared to the other teams they’ve faced regardless of rank.

The whole argument for ND getting in over us if we lose to Bama or Bama getting in if we beat them is a crock of shite.

Get use to it. ND has a huge fan base so lots more $$ for the playoffs if they make it in.

If that situation comes to fruition (ND wins out and we lose to Bama) y'all better be prepared for the snub. The committee has proven that a factor in their decision is how well a team is playing late in the year.

I don't think ND will win out. A lot of ESPN's forecasting is based on their FPI model, which has ND ranked crazy high. They also have us down around 8-9 last time I checked.

The story here is that we need to win big going out. They want be able to ignore that.

Didn't seem that way when we played them?

And UGA doesn't have a huge fan base?

I'm pretty sure our fan base is about the only fan base that has had nation attention this year.

I think he is referring to the fact that ND gets the most favorable shite of any school there is.

Hell I live in New Mexico and I'm not even an Alum. Just the son of one kinda(he got booted for streakin) and he lives in Iowa. Our fan base spans the country. And you better bet if we get in I'm gonna do everything possible to be there. There is a round trip direct flight from Santa Fe to Atlanta for 500 bucks and I'll try to scalp a ticket. My brother also has the hookup for free tickets at the Super Dome if we end up in that playoff game.

I’ve been mentally preparing myself for an 11-1 ND getting in over a 12-1 Georgia.

It will be hard to quit watching college football, but it I’ll have to happen. Not even kidding. No reason to continue watching the sport

It could be a pretty hostile environment for ND fans in Athens in 2019 if that were to happen.

This could shape up to be a crazy year. Check this out...IF we make it to ATL undefeated:

We could lose and then get leapfrogged by a ND team that we beat head to head...

We could win and AL or ND could make it in - so we'd have to play them AGAIN...

ND could win out and not get in because the other 1 loss team in contention is the team that beat them head to head...

I know it's a long way from now and the stars have to align but this is going to get ugly.

The path is clear.....we must win out to be 100% guaranteed a place at the table. That is the only way to get respect and silence all detractors from Joe Blow down the street to all the way to Kirk Herbstreit sitting in that Ivory Tower.

If we were to stumble once between now and Nov. 25th and beat Bama......maybe we make the playoff.

It would take 4 undefeateds to keep us out. I don't think that's even possible.

I hear you but, think about this, if we win out and make it to the playoff (having beat Bama (especially by over a TD)), the message will then be, "The SEC is down across the board". It still stinks because we get no respect because we are in the east. The only way for us to win (from my observations and listening to the constant ESPN talking heads) is theoretically because the whole conference is down and Bama was therefore overrated due to their schedule. Oh and we were lucky to get by ND. This type of thinking is so frustrating.

So my message to our team and our coaches is this, WIN! Just win every fricking game! This year and next year and then and ONLY then will we begin to get true respect.

You may laugh, but that is the kind of bias we are dealing with(.)

This. If we can win the SEC, then we deserve to be in the playoffs, otherwise, no.
