Accuracy-wise, he was rock solid in college.

While I love the hell outta DG and am certainly not bad mouthing him, it's worth noting that he only threw for over 60% completion percentage in a season once.

Verron Haynes, unless McMichael made a catch to get them down the field. I now have to go watch the drive.

Edit: watched it, good times

It caught me off guard, too. he mad 2-3 catches on the drive...and he also recovered the squib kick Tennessee did kicking off to us at the start of thta drive.

Hobnail Boot Drive

My heart still pounds. McMichael not only caught the two very clutch passes, he also fielded the squib kick. Dude was a leader.

You are right that 3-4 of his interceptions came from deflected passes, but I'm not sure i would put all of them on his receivers. Their job is to catch the ball. Most of them made an effort to catch a ball that was poorly thrown or thrown behind the receiver and it deflected off their hands to a defender

I was at the Florida game. I saw Ridley and Stanley drop consecutive big gainers to basically end the first half. The ball hit them in the hands both times.

There's no getting around how bad our WRs were all season long, particularly Chigbu and Stanley.

Ridley and Wims need to see a whole lot more of the field next season.

One of the dumbest penalties I've ever seen. I would really like to know his reasoning for dry humping the UF player in '02.

I am on the Eason bandwagon. Our entire team shows promise and young talent.

That said.. Eason could develop along the path of Stafford. Or develop along the path of Mettenberger (tall, strong arm, but poor decisions and even poorer accuracy).

The problem with Eason this season is the he struggles with the easy passes. And by that I mean that Stafford's inefficiencies were with high risk/high reward throws. It cost us games.

But Eason is inefficient with an efficient style of playcalling. Hutson Mason and Greyson Lambert would have won more games with the type of offense that we fielded this season (we screens, throws to tight ends, and tailbacks. Heavy reliance on the slot receivers).

I agree with playing Eason because it should pay dividends at some point in 2017 (i.e. Stafford lost to every team in the East consecutively and then finished the season as the #2 team in the country ). It might not click game 1, but the leadership should click on '17.

Eason has shown a lot of promise in spite of being hampered by overly conservative play calling. I hope he can learn to avoid the rush and get the ball out on time and on target.

Your use of the word "lot" is very subjective. He has shown a lot of inconsistency and poor accuracy despite being afforded easy, conservative playcalling.

The promise is in his 2 minute drill... from the shotgun... with a spread formation. The promise is that he has a ton of film this offseason to correct and he will have a lot of time to work on it. The promise is that he has an opportunity to lead and work with his receivers.

If you agree that Greene had an advantage as a redshirt freshman vs true freshman then it's reasonable to say Eason is at least equal to (if not better) than Greene given these stats.

This begs the question then is Chaney as terrible as everyone thinks given he got an equal level of performance from a true freshman.... or better given all the drops and other points raised.

Or do we say this is just pure Eason....without the benefit of CMR that Greene had...and Chaney still sucks?
