Or play with what we have left on D and leave those guys on O?

Do we move Green to CB this year?

He'll probably be moved to D after Michel and Chubb sign with us next February.

Or not?

I think Green & Rico at CB would not be a good move at this point. But what do I know.

Green was DB in high school and is only a few months removed from the position. He can take snaps at running back too, he can play both sides like Champ or Hines Ward, maybe? Maybe Mitchell too. Maybe even Gurley as a carolina fan suggested in the other thread... it would be exciting if nothing else. Guaranteed Heisman for Gurley if he rushes for 1000 yards and has a couple-three interceptions or tackles for loss in a part time as-needed defensive role.

No way Richt is going to risk his star RB playing defense.

He's twice as likely to get hurt carrying the ball than laying a smackdown on a skinny little ACC receiver.

It is also a way to make amends with Grantham for suspending his best players every year- "Here's Gurley, you get him for 15 plays a game"

If Bobo bitches about it, tell him to be thankful for the OTHER 5 star running back with the highest ypc in the conference that he gets to still have.

With Fluker, Matthews, Moore, Mauger, Deas, and Norman at Safety and Swann, Dawson, Bowman, Wiggins, and Langley at corner, we'll be alright as far as depth goes for the first few games.

We're far thinner at RB and Mitchell was underwhelming at CB. MM is far more suited to be a productive member of our WR corps right now.

I watched MM play in high school and I think he has more upside at corner, but I'm just a spectator.

Hope you're right.

With the shortage of experienced DBs and athletically gifted, newbie DBs now, I sure hope we have a summer completely free of pot, smoked or baked into brownies, and any more examples of DWS, you know, driving while STUPID!

Anyone, especially on the Defense, who pulls a stunt like that this summer, ought to be locked up for twenty minutes in a small cage with CTG, with no cameras, no audio, and ...

Well, let's hope for a clean summer, and all academic or team rule issues to be resolved successfully, with NOBODY else lost for the season!

MM wasn't underwhelming at corner.

We must have been watching different games.

He's twice as good as a true freshman.

That said... i dont want him wasting summer/fall reps at a position in which he is needed for 1 game.

No i have and I still think at the end of the day he should be a corner. I think he's a great playmaker on offense. I just don't know if he will be a wr at the next level. But like I said I'm just a spectator.

Truth be told idc what he'd do at the next level and apparently I'm one of the few that thinks what he has shown us on offense is too good to just throw him back on defense. I don't richt to RS IV this kid, he's on offense. Leave him. They made their bed now they need to lie in it.

Fully agree.

Also, the Clemson game is going to be a 45-42 game. Having Mitchell practice and play on offense full time gives us the best chance of having the 45. He's our biggest depth threat WR right now, and he is good enough to make people miss when he gets the ball in space.

Yeah I don't want him to lose reps at wr just to play cb for one game. I still stick to my guns and say that he should've played corner instead. But you're right they've made their bed.

I agree. I think he is a better WR, at least at the college level. I could care less about our players pro chances it's about winning games.
