What year was it we started out ranked #1 and dropped 2 or 3 consecutive weeks even though we won but played poorly? Rules evidently do not apply to OSU and TCU.

2008. The Dawgs had glaring flaws early though. Gave up a ton to GSU and beat a not so good USCe team thanks to a 77 yard punt and a Rennie Curran fumble recovery.

USC jumped us when they went on the road and blew out UVA (not a good team but still a road game against a BCS conference team).

Was thinking the same thing Sat night, after "the play".

Bama can still come in here and whip our arse. That game makes me nervous.

I'm excited for this game. Henry/Drake are about even with Lacy/Yeldon to me, if different, but they have less talent at QB and WR. Their OL and DL are both really good again. I feel like we have a better backfield than we did back then and a better defense plus it's a home game. I'm optimistic about it.

...and heaven forbid they drop OSU down after that performance. If it was UGA we would have been promptly kicked out of the top 5 or 10. The bias is thick with ESPN these days. When does the POC poll come out?

If we win out that takes care of Ole Miss. Also ahead of us are teams that play each other so...

OSU/MICH State
TCU/Baylor

So if ND wins out (and they still have some trap games i.e. Clemson, USCw, & Stanford) the PO could potentially look like this...

Big 10 team (OSU)
Big 12 team (TCU)
SEC TEAM (UGA)
ND or PAC12 (TEAM 4?)

The AP is such a joke. We move two spots after beating vandy, and don't move after that performance. I knew LSU would be in the top ten after beating two bad "ranked" teams. Vanderbilt is like 27th in total defense.

You just said a mouth full! It is completely political and its beginning to be obvious now with the playoff. It's mighty peculiar how these teams are falling in the top ten. It's like the AP is trying to make sure certain conferences are represented evenly to ensure a four team four conference playoff...
