I saw a recent full-body photo of him on the field with some other players and Holy-Godzilla Batman! That kid is huuuuuge! He's listed at 365, and looks every bit of that and then some. The good news is, he's already on campus practicing with the team. Sometimes big doesn't always equate to being good, but if this kid has some skills to go with his size, he'll be on the field next season, somewhere.

There’s another incoming OL that’s as big or bigger. I’ll look him up.

Edit: Nyer Daniels is 6’7.5” and 371 lbs. according to On3.

It took Jordan Davis a couple of years to get ready to take the field.

6-7 335 on Michael Uini

That means these kids are likely to be RS while they get to the best playing weight and mature strength and quickness wise.

I'm fine with that, but OL recruiting hasn't been amazing for the last few years. We've seen it on the field with lack of depth and the inconsistent push in the run-game.

Past few years we're signing 3 top-100 DBs a season, but only 1 top 100 OL. Anyone know if there is a reason why the OL recruiting has fallen off so hard lately?

We just signed four 4*'s and a 3 star on OL.

So I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Who had a better OL unit signed in this class?

Stars aren't everything. The number 40 guy in a class isn't the same as number 240, but they're both 4*s.

Did you know we haven't signed even one of 247's top five OL prospect in any of the last 3 cycles. Other than WR, it's the only position group on the team you can say that about.

Calhoun is # 6 per On3 so I’d say he’s pretty close.

. . and Freeling was 6 last year.

It's not bad, but there's certainly been a real drop=off. Take a look at the OL position rankings from past years where OL was a need.

What school signed a better OL unit this class?

Please don't make me ask a 3rd time or I'll quit this board and live in a van down by the river with ugasickem.

Here's the thing, he didn't... he posted again today on SEC Rant, a new topic, about how much he hates football and the board.

He won't quit. That's the amazing part.

I didn't answer that question because I never made the claim that we have a bad class, and I wasn't comparing ours to everyone else's.

My point is for the last 3 years the OL recruiting has dropped off, and I was wondering why that is.

One cycle doesn't make an O-Line, anyway. I'm not going to look it up, but I'd make a bet that you can find at least 2-3 schools who have out-recruited us on the OLine over the past 3 cycles.
