Yea and Florida would've probably ended up in the NC except they had to push the UF-UT game to the end of the year because of 9/11 and Earnest Graham ended up getting hurt vs FSU so he was out for the UT game.

Looking up some old UF-UT stuff and came across this story about the ref from the 04 UF-UT game not calling games in Gainesville anymore. Didn't know that's the easy way to keep Penn Wagers out of Athens

But I can't remember the last time the SEC has ever been that open about officiating. There's basically zero transparency about anything with them.

Then Derek Dooley had more wins than Bear Bryant in 2009... Therefore he is a better coach...

Nebraska has made a mistake. They'll look back and long for the days they finished the regular season 10-2.

Why are some using the beginning of Richt's coaching career at UGA to make him seem to somehow be better than Pelini?

The fact is Richt hasn't done shite since 2005. We have had zero sec championships in almost a decade. Still no national titles...

What does a damn bowl game mean if it's not an sec championship or a national title? Nothing.

Richt has had his chances: 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012. He cannot seem to utilize his talent properly. We definitely should have at least one national title by now.

Richt has brought this program to a new level. But it's time to go to an even greater level. He needs to go. Richt is a mediocre coach who's skill level is camouflaged by great talent.

Saying he hasn't done shite since 2005 is silly and emotional.

Besides winning a Sugar Bowl in 2007, he's kinda right. The 2012 team was terrific but they'll be remembered more for losing (key word here) one of the great games in college football history. Our best bowl since then has been the Citrus. Hooray

I'm not even sure it is emotional. It is more delusional. I understand peoples frustations, but sheesh. Some on here are just plain reactionary.

Swoledawg, if you are not the President of your company within 13 years then you have done nothing.

I am not saying that everything is hunky dorey....but we have never been headed in the right direction as much as we are right now, across the board. So, you want to move on and fire Richt? How will you feel when Trent Thmpson, Roundtree, Eason, Cleveland and the other top recruits walk away and it sets us back another 3-4 years? I would be willing to bet that Bobo and Pruitt would walk too. (Bobo if he does not get the Head Coach position.)

Our best bowl since 2012? Seriously? You mean, a whole year and the best bowl has been the Citrus? Fire him!

Oh. Ok. Mind telling me when we went to the Citrus, then? (I'll refrain from calling you names)

Went to Citrus (was called Capital One) in 2008 and 2012. Went to Independence in 2009, Liberty in 2010, Outback in 2011 and Gator in 2013.

This whole headed in the right direction line is all fine and dandy, and the recruiting class looks really good, but it's the exact same line I've heard every season since about 2002. There's a reason other fans call UGA the preseason national champs or next year's champs.

So we didn't go to the Citrus? Look, I know we haven't been to a great Bowl. but, can you honestly say we shouldn't have gone to the Sugar in 2012? A team that did not win their division, therefore did not play in the SECCG went to the Sugar. A tea we beat. To say Richt has not done anything since 2007 is pretty weak. Sorry you don't agree. That's your perogative.

But, if you guys wat to throw our best recruiting class out the window go ahead and fire Richt. Complain all you want.

But frankly, 10,000 thread saying fire Richt is geting tiring. :beatdeadhorse:

I would say you guys are beating a dead horse, but that horse has turned to fertilizer by now. Move on with something new to complain about.

Capital One has been renamed the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. It was called the Citrus Bowl years ago as well. You young bucks prolly didn't know.

Ok fine. We went to the Capital One Bowl. Would you prefer me to say that Stanford and Michigan State played in the Rose Bowl or the Rose Bowl Presented By Vizio last season? Did OU and Bama play in the Sugar Bowl or the Allstate Sugar Bowl? I still call it the Citrus Bowl, just like I still called the game in Atlanta the Peach Bowl instead of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Hey, I'm not trying to pick a fight. Relax. The Capital One Bowl just isn't known as or called the Citrus anymore. I haven't heard it called the Citrus in a LOOOONG time. (In all honesty, I have to admit that I didn't even remember that The Captal one Bowl was the old Citrus. (AND, I could be wrong...maybe the DO call it the Capital One Citrus Bowl? Honestly don't know)

I DO agree with you that I like the old names more than the corporate names.

No offense to you. I guess I am just tired of thread after thread being started about firing Richt. It's been discussed enough.

2007 sugar bowl...that would be just fine if we won an sec title every now and again or had one national title by now.

But alone....the sugar bowl is the best we can do since 2005?? That just doesn't cut it for me. It isn't all that impressive when we don't have any other accolades to go along with it.

Richt has underutilized the talent Georgia has gotten since he's been here. I will admit he can get the players. But he can't do what a great coach could do with them. Richt single handidly cost us a national title in 2012 and one of your PRECIOUS BOWLS this year with the stupid fricking call vs. tech.
