Too bad. I enjoyed beating his arse, but he was a really good dude and I actually thought he could get the nerds to somewhat of a middle of the pack ACC team

Where you hearing this? I’m sure it’ll happen but I’m not hearing anything about it

Plenty of Waffle House money in bound.

Tech should just shutdown football all together.

Collins is a museum exhibit personification example of a douche nozzle.

I’m reading that Tech fans want Deon Sanders as next coach

Better hope so.Their athletic department is in horrible financial shape.

Rogers and Dewberry are just a few of the wealthy alumni left that GAS about athletics

Probably right but his days are numbered barring some miracle turn around.

There’s an article suggesting he’ll be 1st to be fired… followed by the guy in Colorado. BTW… did y’all hear/see his quote after their loss…

Coach Dorrell: I feel good about our attitude about playing the game," Colorado coach Karl Dorrell told reporters after the game. "We're just not very good at really playing it effectively and proficiently.

Colorado had been outscored 128-30 through its first 3 games. Yikes!

What’s Collins’ buyout situation? I can’t imagine there’s a ton of appetite at Tech to pay a huge buyout to fire a coach mid-season.

I doubt there's any appetite from the administration. It'll have to be 100% on donors.

This is why I don’t see a guy like Deion going there. He’s a lot of flash and ra ra but he’s not dumb. He knows the program has to be supported both financially and emotionally or else there’s no hope. They basically don’t care at all and they’re poor. Bad combo.

Well, Collins is still employed. I figured it would be Monday. I have no idea what Tech should do at this point. I guess they will go after another coach that had success at a mid-major or FCS school. I was impressed with Collins at first and he seemed like an upbeat guy, but that turned out to be snake oil. From the Pitt mid-field situation and post game interview he looked like kind of a jack-arse. Saw an article referencing a social media post saying players have quit on him. Going to be a long season for Tech.

I’ve heard from GT friends and family that want Matt Rhule when/if fired from Panthers, Ga State coach, or OC from Baylor.

What’s Collins’ buy out

Drops to 2.4 mil at the end of this season and every other season he has left.

What is Geoff Collins’ Buyout?
If Georgia Tech wants to fire Geoff Collins prior to 2023, the university will need to pay him 100% of his remaining contract salary: $10.5 million.

Collins’ original seven-year contract guarantees his full salary if he is relieved of his duties as head coach at any point during the first four years of his contract. The 2022 season is Collins’ fourth year at Georgia Tech.

The buyout drops to $2.4 million for each remaining season, beginning in 2023.

My understanding was they had planned to fire him Sunday, called a 3pm team meeting and media relations was planning for a press conference Sunday night….

Guess Collins has rug burns on his knees now.

The buyout is pointless, as it’s his salary anyways. They don’t “save” money waiting for the end of the season, just allows them to get ahead of the coaching carousel

Nobody wants that shitshow of a job. Mark Bradley was waxing nostalgic for the triple option on Friday, FFS.
