Maybe that's just the fact the past few years I fear any QB who can throw a spiral.

Hopefully by the end of this season I won't shudder every time I see a football thrown more than 15 yards.

I know he was playing vs the prevent a lot when either CU was getting blown out or vice versa but what I noticed was just how he threw it. Threw some pretty balls.

And it's nice that Mason has been battle tested and has actual starter experience. Sure wouldn't have hurt to blow some more teams out, though, so Mason could have gotten more garbage time like this guy. But, hey, ding dong the Grantham's gone.

Typically, you'd think of stacking the box and forcing this green QB to win the game for them. But UGA's own secondary has some substantial questions, and Clemson does have some quality receivers.

Perhaps put the emphasis on Clemson's own run game to win the game: all of their RBs are basically unproven, and Clemson's OL also have issues coming in this season. I'd drop back 2 of your LBs into coverage and rush 3 (with your DE), and make Clemson either run or force throws into coverage. Chad Morris doesn't like to run a lot anyways, and this would throw a wrench into his gameplan....

They have a young and inexperienced RB unit for 2014: their top returning backs will be Jr. Zac Brooks (246 yds on 48 carries, 2 tds), RS-Sr. DJ Howard (213 yds on 57 carries, 2 tds), and RS-Jr. CJ Davidson (155 yds on 34 carries, 4 tds).

They will also have RS-Fr. Wayne Gallman, RS-Fr. Tyshon Dye, Fr Adam Choice, and Fr CJ Fuller. So they have little returning contributions in their depth, while having a lot of inexperienced youth coming into the unit. Last season their QB Tahj Boyd was essentially their top goal-line and short-yardage rusher, as he led the offense in rushing tds and was their #2 overall rusher, behind McDowell...

I'd be suprised if Adam played. I think Dye is the most talented rb they have, but the guy can't get healthy. Also, Morris seems to do pretty well with whoever he plugs in at running back so I wouldn't expect to see much of a drop off here.

The fact is they run a hurry up spread which is allegedly designed to equalize a talent gap. Them having young unproven RB's is actually scary to me, coing into 2012 UGA had young unproven RB's.

In that style of offense, the qb has to be a mobile threat and this video didn't show that from Stoudt. Alot of his screens were a little bit lofty, asking for alot of pick-6s against a good defense. He got away with alot of it in the video vs BC with their backups in, Maryland with backups in, and Furman. There's a reason he was 3rd string behind Boyd and Kelly. Then Kelly got kicked off the team.

Then incoming freshman early enrollee Deshaun Watson was the likely starter until he missed alot of practice with collar bone injury.

Stoudt is literally their last option.

Don't be surprised to see more of Watson and less of Stoudt on gameday. Dabo and Morris have already hinted this to the media a month ago, whenever SEC Media days was, that's when they leaked it ahead of ACC media days, probably trying to drum up interest in the program from the media but potentially because it's true.

We need to worry about Clemson's pass rush and making sure we have a solid backup for Mason if shite gets ugly.

This is a little off topic but apparently one of their significant players may be injured. T-net is freaking out.

Weird how their program can keep info locked up for so long. If a UGA player got injured at practice we'd know before Richt.

That would be a huge blow for them. Their line is already questionable at best. Plus they have two o-linemen suspended for our game.

Not really, once you know how they do things up there. Clemson is probably miles ahead of anyone else when it comes to school-controlled propaganda regarding their programs, especially their FB program.

A few years ago, their RB position coach made some rather candid comments about their RBs that drew some criticism towards the program: he simply stated that his top 2 backs at the time - Andre Ellington and Jamie Harper - were deciding for themselves when each would go into games and play, and when each would come out for breathers.

Overall it wasn't that big of a deal, but immediately after that Swinney imposed a new policy of where ONLY the head coach (him), and the coordinators were allowed to give post-practice interviews, or interviews of any kind. After that season, the RB coach was replaced by their current position coach who at the time had never played nor coached the RB position before previously. He's essentially a recruiter and graduate-assistant, and nothing more...

Swinney has had a tight, oxygen-choking deathgrip on what news gets out on their FB program. Everyone made a huge deal about the riff between Spurrier and a columnist for the local Columbia newspaper, that got the columnist banned from pressers for a couple of years. Other reporters could still attend, ask whatever questions they liked, and report however they felt...

At Clemson, certain media reporters are NOT allowed to attend pressers and ask questions, but this was all done quietly and behind the scenes, unlike Spurrier's issue where he announced it loudly to a room filled with reporters.

Clemson had their longtime game play-by-play announcer replaced by their long-time "public-relations director and video programmer", who had zero experience at such a job, because the original announcer wasn't a true "Clemson Man", and wouldn't color his remarks when the team struggled. His replacement was previously involved in determining what videos were put out about the program, and what news was reported. The regular color analyst that worked with the fired announcer - who IS a true "Clemson Man" - quit the job in protest. They replaced him with former CU QB Rodney Williams, another man with zero experience at the profession..

Clemson has also tightened down on outgoing news from other media outlets. They want to make sure only positive news is released and negative news is not. They have a lock-down on any lawful violations that occur in Clemson - which is essentially more their school campus than an actual college town...

I think we'll be able to get pretty good pressure in 3rd down passing situations rushing 6 in Pruitts 4-2-5. If we can, we roll...

I'm having a hard time finding any fault in this logic, seems like his picked up some good things while working under Saban.

Frick you can say what you want but they handled this whole thing masterfully 100 times better than our people could or would have.
