Linebackers have been solid under Grantham, and Coach O was a Grantham guy.

The Pruitt takeover excited me to full hard-on because he was a DB guy and would take alot of that responsibility, assuming Wilson and O kept their postions.

Now this just looks like a clusterfrick. Feels like a clusterfrick.

Pruitt hits recruiting trail in the morning and they ask "Who is going to be my linebackers coach?"

frick this shite.

Deep makes a good point. Awful timing coming off the dead period.

Let it play itself out...its not unheard of for assistanta to leave after the head guy is replaced and I'm certain there are some solid folks out there that are already on the short list to fill these roles.

3 days ago, Pruitt was the defensive coordinator of FSU and Todd Grantham was the defensive coordinator for Georgia.

Do you think they already have contingency plans for the attrition of assistants?

Do they have a premium membership to 1-800-Dial-A-Coach?

Any respectable assistant will have an agent to deal with, no one left to promote from within, just Richt, Pruitt, and the open assistant market.

Not ideal.

With as short a coaching career at the college level, will Pruitt even have any of "his guys"?

No, having spent the last 21 years either playing football or coaching football, Jeremy Pruitt will not have any knowledge of other quality coaches that he would like to work with. His defensive staff is likely to be filled by picking names out of a hat.

Hah, Gamecock fans live such a miserable existence.

Your first name should get you a job at Penn State.

It's not surprised but seemed like they were doing a good job and Richt suggested in the presser that we hoped to retain both of them as did yours truly. I am happy to have gotten Pruitt on such short notice but deeprig is right in that this puts us in the uncomfortable position of having to recruit for positions for which we don't have position coaches for.

Seems like CKO was CTG's buddy & always a NFL guy. He did a good job here under trying circumstances with his daughter & I wish him well. Coach Wilson, I think he got his feelings hurt a little by not even being considered for the DC position which is understandable. He did a great job here & So.Cal. is a hella job. I don't even know if he's a West coast guy or not, so good luck to him...

As Jeff says...Exciting times...Onward...

I did read that C-Rob and others were out there too. This could mean they have names on the list and want to familiarize recruits with the coaching assistants. He knows how we use LB's at UGA and I'm sure CMR and CJP have coached him on what to say. Not worried about the assistants. Besides, recruits and players spend more time with the S&C staff than any other coaches. We will be ok!

Yeah the timing does suck, but you could look at it from the perspective that Pruitt has a great reputation. If I were a recruit I would trust that Pruitt will get the right guy. So it wouldn't be that big of a deal to me.
