50/50 according to Vegas.

Arkansas has the better team. Despite their wins, Missouri seems to be playing like shite to me right now, and Arkansas is the complete opposite. UT was AWFUL on Saturday, but they were still competing the entire game. That's how bad Missouri was against them.

The thing that concerns me most is the game being @ Mizzou and those guys know what's at stake. They are going to be fired.up.

hopefully it'll help that it's in the afternoon the day after thanksgiving. I imagine the students won't be in full force due to going home, and hopefully people are tired/hungover from thursday.

I also think it bodes well that arkansas has a great run game. Mason was great against them but ultimately we controlled the game on the ground. hopefully they can do the same.

Good point about Friday after Thanksgiving. That does help.

You know, when we were looking down Mizzou's schedule vs A&M, UT, and Arkansas, I had the most confidence in UT of all of them. UT didn't happen, so one would think my hopes are now dashed. The thing is, the reason Mizzou beat UT has nothing to do with Mizzou being a good team and winning a dogfight in a hostile environment. They won that game because their opponent was awful and did not show up. If the same Mizzou team shows up Friday, and the same Arkansas shows up that we've seen the last 2 weeks, Arkansas, imo, wins the game. This to say that while a UT win in Knoxville would have been ideal, the silver lining from that game, imo, is Mizzou is not a good football team. Arkansas is playing good football right now.

only 126 yards, but they've definitely improved since playing us.

Actually I looked back at their rushing stats the last few games and it wasn't nearly as impressive as I was thinking. They don't appear to rush for a ton of yards per game, but they do have a massive OL and a pretty legit RB. I know their fans are not very high on their QB.

Mizzou has much more to play for than Arky. Arkansas is already thinking about next year.

I'm rooting (pun intended) for the Hogs, but their road SEC record is atrocious. Hopefully they will continue to improve and pull off the upset, but I have my doubts.

Not sure I agree there. After going 2 years without a conference win they now have 2 in a row, over "good" teams, both shutouts. I'm sure they've got the winning fever now and want to continue proving doubters wrong. Plus, they're sitting at 6-5 right now so they will certainly be trying to improve their bowl standing.

This.

Arkansas is an improved team and will put up a good fight. But I expect this game to be over in the third quarter. If Arkansas' offense wasn't so pathetic I would feel a great deal better about the game, but I think Missouri's d-line is going to be a tough matchup for Arkansas because of their speed.

Sucks, but if UGA wouldn't have stayed on the bus in Jacksonville…..

They actually have two legit running backs. But their success of late has been due to their defense steppping up. Their Quarterback can be pretty good oe play then look like crap the next. If he gets i a groove they can be dangerous. BUT, the strength of Mizzou is their pass rush. When they go up against a strong running team, it negates that pass rush, and then you can throw the ball on them with play action.

I strongly feel this is a matchup made in heaven for Arkansas....but I also realize that either team could come out hot/cold and that will ultimately determine the outcome.

Who knows. At some point you have to give Mizz credit for pulling the worst out of people. Winning is all that matters.

Ark D is playing solid. They key to Mizz is getting the turnovers and Ark had been pretty good all year (minus our game).

Honestly about 90%

LSU and ole miss are both better teams than Missouri. Arkansas didn't allow either team to score ONCE. The hogs are hot now and they will bring their A game...as I expect Missouri to as well but their A game doesn't impress me against less than mediocre teams.

frick that shite. I don't consider a UGA season successful if we aren't in the SECCG.

Arky also almost took out Bama and that was before playing us. Hopefully they don't come out cold like we did against UF.

Btw, what is the new bowl situation? Which bowls are playoff bowls and how do the old big 4 work into all of this? Sorry, I haven't been paying attention.

UGA had no excuse not to win the east this year, none.

Because I had to figure this mess out for myself....

"Contract Bowls" Sugar, Rose, Orange (Big 5 Affiliations)

"Access Bowls" Peach, Cotton, Fiesta (At Large)

The 2 playoff games rotate between these 5 bowls.

The Championship is bid out like the super bowl.

Since Sugar and Rose are hosting playoffs, those affiliations are irrelevant this year.

Orange is ACC Champ/Next Highest ACC vs SEC/Big 10/Notre Dame. Can't be a conference champ from SEC or Big 10. They will avoid rematches.

Peach, Cotton, Fiesta - They will start with conf champs from Big 5 not going to playoffs then by rankings. They will try to match up on regional basis. Very different this year is that the "Committee" places teams to these bowls. They aren't selected by bowls. One spot in these three bowls has to go to a team outside the big 5 conferences...ie could make us play Marshall if they get ranked.

Then come the other bowls not selected by committee but by bowls/SEC:

Citrus (formerly Capital One) is highest among them.

Tax Slayer, Belk, Outback, Music City, Liberty, and Texas are all lumped together.

Next is Birmingham.

Last is Independence if an SEC school is left.

Think this correct.

Our likely scenarios are:
We could be as high as playoffs (if magic happens)

Orange Bowl (long shot)-Would take FSU losing to Tech or Louisville jumping Tech and Clemson AND Miss State losing to Ole Miss or making playoffs.

Peach- Likely if we beat Tech

Citrus- Likely if we lose to Tech

Sugar and Rose are playoff games.

Peach, Cotton, Orange, and Fiesta are basically the same as old non championship BCS games but the teams are determined by the selection committee.
