Why can’t we just plug and play Oscer, Luckie Lawson or Spurlin? Those guys were recruited to be the next Bowers.

Probably because they aren’t as good as he is. “Recruited to be the next Bowers” is more hopeful than anything. We aren’t likely to find another Bowers in the next couple decades.

Call me a Disney Dawg but after watching a playback when he injured his ankle, it didn't look like he twisted his ankle that badly so I am hoping it's just a average lower ankle sprain but we will find out soon if I'm right.

We will because those guys are next on the depth chart but I mean...obviously they aren't as good as Bowers. Like in 05 we just plugged in JT3 instead of DJ but that doesn't mean our team didn't massively suffer from it.

Speed… Bowers plays a lot of plays more like a slot receiver. The big upside is he is big and can block so the defense has to weigh options of matchups in run vs pass.

Update: Georgia confirms Brock Bowers will have surgery today "to stabilize the ankle and a full recovery is anticipated."

Can’t replace Bowers, shouldn’t try. Offense will have to adjust a bit.

Injuries have been awful this season. No matter what happens I prefer not to hear endless excuses like we heard from Bama and Ohio State.

I still expect UGA to make it to Atlanta. This team seems to rise to the occasion when they are challenged.

Fortunately, UGA has two weeks to prepare for the next game and moving forward.

Posted this elsewhere, but Tua had the same injury I believe and had surgery three weeks later he suited up vs LSU in 2019. Fwiw

As Kirby has said, recovery time depends upon a lot of factors, not the least of which is the player himself. I believe Brock will be highly motivated to return, and will commit to the rehabilitation.

But, I'm still waiting for Kirby to confirm the surgery.

He's out for the next three games apparently. Florida, Missouri, and Ole Miss.

Not a good stretch to not have him.

I think we need to be prepared for him to be out 6 weeks. It sucks, but we have a lot of good players. Can’t replace Bowers, but we can tweak the offense to our current strengths. 2 weeks to do it will jelp.

Obviously Bowers has some big shoes, but I am excited about Luckie, even if he's just out there blocking.
