You mean like Hugh Freeze ?

I am thinking they go balls deep with Kiffin as the hire.

He is the only scumbag who wouldn't care about NCAA violations surrounding the program while working.

Kiffin has way too much baggage to take over Ole Miss any time soon.

Mazzone, the AnM offensive coordinator.

He was tubberville's oc at Ole Miss 95-99.

Then was Orgeron's OC for another season at Ole Miss in 2005.

Pretty decent resume.

A good under-the-radar pick.

Don't forget that Kiffen's lil bro was balls deep in the NCAA investigation of OM (admitted several violations) before he bailed to go with his brother...

And? That's his brother...Kiffin will sell his family member out for an SEC head coaching gig.

The OM job is a career killer imo.

Currently under NCAA cloud. They will be under heavy sanctions and NCAA microscope for the foreseeable future. Now you can add a PR disaster to that clusterfrick.

Even without those problems, it's a program that is seriously outgunned within its division and conference in terms of resources and hasn't won significantly since integration with the exception of a few years that will lead to the previously mentioned sanctions. To add to those clear obstacles, you now have a booster network that has elevated expectations due to that recent winning. Nevermind that said winning was due in large part to their own rogue tendencies that will be unsustainable under sanctions.

TLDR: It's a bad job right now.

I see nothing that says they won't finish in last place in the West from 2018 to 2021. No even relatively big name should look there because they'll probably be fired, or worst case rebuilding for the next however many years.

Not knowing what their sanctions are going to be isn't helpful in the slightest.

Better he come back to the conference there, then Auburn.

Now that wouldn't surprise me. Obviously Les has a good resume but is not getting any decent offers or he would already be coaching again. The FB program analysts know what the public realized: Les is not the sharpest tack on the bulletin board. Still, considering the state of the OM FB program, he would likely be considered a solid hire.

Given who he's replacing, he's pretty much got a license to frick up pretty badly for at least a couple of years. Not a bad situation, really.

If Colorado State has a big season, Bobo will be in line for some nice jobs. He won't have to settle for Ole Miss.

They're supposed to have a team good enough to win the MWC this year.

Why would anyone even remotely want to go to OM? It won't look good on their resume, even if it is their first coaching job.
