As an aside, I just remembered why I didn't like Sublime. I was in a relationship with a girl that loved Sublime, her favorite band, along with Bare Naked Ladies (Canadian dipshit rock), the relationship ended badly and I think I just associated Sublime with that experience. 10 years later, I ended up running into her at AJ's in Destin, she had ballooned up to about 300 pounds just like her momma, and I had the opportunity to make out with a hot black chick right in front of her. It felt so good. It is one of the highlights of my life.

ETA... remembering more.... I think the cover band that night was the Spunk Monkeys, and they were playing that Sublime song, or possible their version of Scarlet Begonias, when this went down. It made it even sweeter.

Summertime Blues is an excellent submission. It was on a Domino's Pizza Sizzling Sounds of Summer tape they used to hand out in the 80's with pizza deliveries, wore out my tape deck with that tape.

The Cruel Summer song I always thought of as a winter song for some reason, just has a cold cool feel to it.

The rest of your list is shite...

Need 2 more acceptable nominations before I put together the business plan.

Lousisiana Red doing Lightnin' Bug is one of my all time favorite summer time night songs.... classic blues, discovered it on some dollar bin CD blues compilation I got in a gas station at some point in the 90's.

Fantastic track....

Hot and greasy southern summer blues here.

I've always wanted to open up a little place on the coast called The Sugar Shack, little tourist trap type place with surf boards and flamingos and shite, on the water.

Love Shack, always thought of this as a great summer song.... B52's local athens band

Always thought the blonde was hotter than KAte, but not the best singer
