Glavine, Smoltz, Pete Smith, Steve Avery....all developed players.

Smoltz was traded for and the rest were developed. They also had Gant and Justice that came from the farm system.Nixon,TP,Raffy,Bream and Deon were either FA's
or traded for.

DI'd you know that Urban Meyer was drafted by the Braves in the '80s? He played with a lot of the 90s Barves heroes in the minors before getting hurt. Roomed with Marke Lemke. Imagine if he hadn't got hurt and was good enough. Georgians would have had posters of him on their wall. Far out, huh?

Unless something has changed I'd imagine that is former Charlotte Bobcats dancer Brittany Kerr. They were married a year ago after he left his former wife.

Heard that and I believe they actually had him on during a game to talk about it.

Braves also drafted Tom Seaver and Randy Johnson and obvoiusly signed neither.

He does resemble Jason Aldean.

And another shameless pic on a Sunday just for fun.

I was at UGA in 91...everybody was all-in right after the all star break and watching was a nightly event. When they win the NL everyone went apeshit. I can still name all of the starters and positions on that team.

It was different then because almost everyone I knew were native Georgians that grew up with the Bravos sucking every year. When they turned it around it was epic. People were partying in the parking lots and downtown had kids hanging from the light poles.

The fact that they didn't win it all that year shook my belief in the Almighty to the core. That was our year...it should've happened in '91.

this team has some talent and they are trying to recreate what Bobby Cox and those guys did to build the team(s) of the nineties....they will not win a pennant this year but they knew that going in...next few years could turn out to be very good tho...

the magic of 91'...unfortunately....will never be repeated......the drought of the 80's was very real...sports were different...Atlanta was different too...for those of us who got to see it...we should cherish it.

lastly....biggest thing holding them back is Gonzalez...they need a new game manager...some of his decisions are like...WTF?

How much longer is baseball going to be a thing when the only attraction to MLB is the incredibly good looking women the game attracts? As far as the game goes there is nothing on the planet worse than watching a MLB game...it is like paying $75 to get into the waiting area at the DMV....

I watched some kids playing T-ball recently and I realized why it was that they were all slowly turning in circles and chasing bugs.....because they were bored out of their minds.....the game just sucks period...it is surprising fans at MLB games aren't slowly turning in circles in the stands and chasing moths in the lights....
